Im getting this tick starting from 2600-2800 rpms and higher. It gets louder as the rpm increases. Its not lifter tick, replaced them with good ones and still the same. Heard a bad timing tensioner can cause this, (mine had 30k miles) so i replaced belt and tensioner. Noise it still there.

There is no obvious noise below 2500 rpms. And it only appears under acceleration. I can tap on the gas pedal and the tick will appear and as soon as i let go of the pedal, it goes away.

I first noticed this noise when i switched over to e85 (when i ran out i went back to 91) and the noise stayed. (bosh 1000cc injectors)

First i feared rod knock/piston slap, but theres no noise at idle or if i leave it on neutral and accelerate all the way to 5k. You can not hear anything. Ive tried lifting the car on all 4, and putting it in neutral and accelerating in gear, and no noise.

This tick is causing my knock sensor to go crazy while im cruising. I can not figure it out. Maybe injectors?

Ill try and connect my go pro later tonight, and its a GSX. Clutch has like 7k and throwout bearing etc have about 30k

Could it be injectors? I have a evo ecu and my buddy has a tactrix cable. The car was tuned before i got it. can i use the cable to monitor the injectors?

Could be the injectors. Also, if you started on E85 and switched back to gas, did you retune? Bosch injectors can be clackey, but usually not enough to create knock readings. And I would check the gasket between the head and exhaust manifold as well as the exhaust manifold and turbo and the O2 housing and pipe connection. Any exhaust leaks there may register.

I'm tuned for e85 and 91. And I don't think it's exhaust. My gaskets look clean and no signs of leak.

Here's a video, the alley makes it seem deeper than it actually is.

I was in first gear entire time. Noise didn't appear till 2800 rpms. I let the gas pedal go and goes away and accelerated and came back.

And I noticed another noice. Kinda like brakes scraping every half revolution. Internal. Maybe tranny?

Under WOT no loud knock or anything. Reason why I think engine is healthy. And no noise at idle

check your spark plugs. see what they look like. I've had about the same noise only on acceleration and plugs would come out bad. My issue was detonation. Yours may not be detonation but it had about the same sound

Spark plugs checked out good last oil change, (has like 7k miles to them) No signs of exhaust leak. Checked all my bolts and all tight. Think i can disconnect one injector at a time and drive on 3 cylinders to see if the noise goes away?

Ill do a boost leak test tomorrow, my buddy as my tester.

Have you been logging at all when the noise crops up? Seeing things like injector open time might help determine if there is a relationship between knock, noise and injector activity. Do you have a specific location for where the noise is coming from?

I can't find the tick cause it only happens when the car is moving. If I rev the engine in neutral it won't appear. So only under load.
I have a Evo ecu. Never logged anything in my life. Not sure what tuning software was used when I got the car. My buddy has a tactrix 2.0 but I don't think that will work on the Evo 8/9 ecus.

Got a GoPro you can strap on a few diff spots to get a better vid? Have you looked over the cv shafts and driveline? Any diff in noise with clutch pressed in or out when noise happens?

Yea. I have a go pro. I'll try and position it inside. Well, the noise goes away as soon as you let go of the gas pedal. So if I press the clutch in, there won't be any load and noise is gone.

I haven't checked the cv shaft. What should I look for?

Hmm interesting LOL. Checking cv shafts for tears and grease flung out is a good sign things are going bad. No grease and a rip means water and the elements can get in and destroy the cv joint. Also check the driveshaft for bad u-joints (play) and carrier bearing. If the carrier bearings rubber is shot it can allow the driveshaft to flex way to much causing noise. Actually listening again it does kinda sound like the driveshaft clanking which could be caused by the carrier bearing.

Not sure of your set up. But had this with my car since switching to an hx40.

I didn't clock the turbo housing enough when I first installed it and under acceleration the turbo would hit the radiator fan. (I run a stock fan) causing a clicking sound. (I have not listened to your videos)
But should be simple enough to check just look at your fan blades for wear.
