Hi, I recently began to attempt repairing my 91 throttle body shaft seals, as I had considerable boost leaks on both sides. I got the seals out, but ruined the metal rings in the process, making it impossible for me to simply replace the o-ring. I then decided to order the seals listed on the ca dsm vfaq (http://www.ca.dsm.org/faq/tb-shaftseals.html).

However, when I contacted motion industries, I learned they apparently no longer manufacture these seals. Does any one know where I can get the 3930 chicago rawhide seals? Or if there is some other way to fix this problem? I was thinking maybe using two o-rings.. Let me know what you guys think, thanks

Ive used the o-rings before in a couple throttle bodies Ive rebuilt. The o-ring itself has to be the absolute perfect size to fit and it took a couple tries to figure it out. They were either too loose or fit too tight on the shaft and the throttle plate wouldnt work smoothly. Take the shaft and body over to the hardware store and start checking sizes. You'll eventually find something that will work. I forget what size I used but it works perfectly, it was in the metric o-ring section. If I had to do it again, I would look for the seals from Chicago Rawhide.

Wow, I wasn't aware any DSM vendors even carried these! Makes sense though, haha. I searched and turned up nothing about where to get them. They should really update the vfaq and list some more sources for where to get these. Thanks a ton guys.

The ones listed in the MachV website are the Chicago Rawhide ones. Don't cheap out and get o-rings. I tried that and it didn't work. The Chicago Rawhides work perfectly just don't forget to put silicone grease on them.
