Throttle Body Shaft Retaining Clip???

So I just tore my throttlebody apart and put in new shaft seals. I broke the E-clip that was on the TPS side (this is for a 1990 TB...this ONLY TB that has the retaining clip on that side) and I went to replace it with a brand new E-clip. I used 3 different clips and broke all of them trying to put it on.

So I used a C-clip instead...it is smaller than the E-clip. Will this work or does it need to use the E-clip?

i would go with the e-clipse i mean it is and eclipse. . no but i would go with what it was from the factory. but if it holds nice and tight then you should be ok.

My problem is I broke 3 of the E-Clips trying to get them on. And the slot for the clip is below the lip on the throttle body so it is hard to get a clip in there.

if your c-clip holds tight and its not in the way of any moving parts then i dont see a problem with using it. im just the type of person who puts it back to gether just like it was taken apart with everything looking and working the way it was from the factory.

can you post a picture so i can get a better visual on what your saying?
