thought it was Engine / Exhaust noise but...

ok ill get straight to it. my 420a was running loud because i had a bad flex pipe. I replaced and it runs much quieter for the most part but now i notice a loud " humming " type of sound when i get to about 30 mph. it gets louder the faster i go BUT it stops when i turn the steering wheel ( i.e switching lanes or merging) or when i come to a complete stop. any advice on what it could be ?

humming sound might be a bad wheel bearing. plus i assume it has to do with something rotating because it gets worse as speed increases

Yeah defiantly sounds like a wheel bearing problem. I have drove with them bad for extended periods of time without problems. But it is a good idea to get it replaced as soon as possible to play it safe.

do this to find out which one... turn hard to left and then turn hard to the right and listen. If it gets worse when leaning and putting more pressure on one side then the other than thats your bad one!

Might as well replace both wheel bearings. Just a matter of time before the other side goes out.
