Ok I'm working on my car at this point. I just rebuit the head and I have to buy a new turbo. I got a evo III exhuast mani because the old one was cracked. I'm going to go with the evo III 16g also because of cracks with the stock turbo. I wont at this point have any of the support mods like injectors or exhuast for atleast 6 months. This should be ok to go with this turbo as long as i dont try to adjust anything past stock or really get on it. I just cant see spending money on a stock turbo to just turn around and buy a 16g a year later..

Thanks.

At least get a MBC and a boost gauge so you know what you're boosting and then try to get to the down pipe and exhust as soon as you can.

I would turn the boost all the way down to like 10psi. Dont even get on it alot. You dont have any fuel mods, And you have the stock tiny exhaust, Which is really restrictive.
I would try to get the other mods asap if you are going to be driving the car. Maybe someone will try to argue and dissagree with me, But I personally say the same answer to everyone that posts something like this. You're car will feel slow. You have no supporting mods for the turbo! It is kind of like buying a monster truck, And not having the tires.. You just cant do anything with it. I'm not trying to sound ignorant either, Just giving you my advice.

Hmm

Well did a little research and talked to a friend.. Since I'm only going to Auto-X the car next summer and not looking for anything more than 300hp if that. I'm going to go with a ported Small 16g. Its everything i believe i will need..

Thanks for the replies.

The evo 16g is only 550 I believe, So if you are paying almost that much for the s16g, I'd stick with getting the bigger one. You are going to want more power out of it, Even if you tell yourself you dont, You will. Every time you get a mod then, That turbo will show more and more of what it can do. When I had my small 16g with a stock exhaust, After I got my exhaust done, I couldent believe the difference. I had the small 16g and i only had it at 15psi with no fuel mods or anything, it ran really good, And it was pretty quick. The turbo wasent even being maxed out, Alot of people doubt the capability of the s16g thats for sure.
