so my 91 talon that I put the motor in from my N/T converted to Turbo, got t-boned right after I finished it. Accident was on April 14, got tboned by some lady on her cell phone.

At first I wanted nothing to do with the stuff anymore. I got 3700 from the lady's insurance company. I bought my car back from the insurance company for $550, I began parting it out and sold the built trans / head / dsmlink pretty fast. Then I had someone come buy the entire car for parts and they gave me what I was asking for pretty much everything else that was left. The only thing I still have from it is my evo recaro seats, and two drag radials that I used on my fwd eclipse N/T converted to turbo before i put the motor in the AWD talon.

So I basically got rid of everything, and now I have a little over 7000 now and now that I'm not really thinking about the accident much.. I realize I was dumb to throw everything away.. I actually have more than 7k but 7k all came from this car junk lately so I don't want to spend more than 7k on the new car.

So I decided I'd look for another DSM. My dad told me he always see's one on his way to work under a tarp and figured they might sell it, I dont like approaching people like that but I just went on saturday and knocked at their door and asked them about it. The lady said it had been her sons until it died one day and was going to need too much work, the son didnt care about it. I gave her $200 and pulled it home with a tow strap on my 92 eclipse LOL (i converted it back to N/T for a daily after swapping the motor to the 91)

Anyway, so its a awd 1994 Talon, but it has a 6bolt. the suspension pretty much all needs replaced. The car had jumped time. It already had some mods actually, enough to recoup the $200 i spent easily. Soon as I begin the build I'll sell the 16g (assuming its in good shape, seems to be), and the SFC.

So thats my long story of how I ended up with this thing. Interior is near mint, exterior is in okay condition. It's dark green, has a few dings here and there. No rust anywhere.

Anyway what all is already on it is in my profile.

I've never ordered this much stuff at once, I want some feedback on what you feel about this list. I don't want to bench race but my goal for my 91 this year was to run 11's, the old setup ran 12's in my FWD eclipse. I'd like to run mid 11's.

Anyway, here's what is in my to buy list, all I need to do is click the buy button..

Planning on tuning it on E85.

My dad has offered to help me out and buy all the parts to build my trans and I'm going to try to do it myself, I managed to rebuild the stock trans in my eclipse so i figure I should be able to do it.

just wondering if this list looks good.
Hoping for a solid build that'll hold well. I really haven't had many problems with my eclipse or my 91 talon (except for the wreck LOL). I mostly will daily driver it once its done.

I'm running ross slugs w/ k272 cams and +1mm valves, and there isn't much piston to valve clearance.

If this is going to be a street car i'd think about going smaller on the cams. K272s don't have the best bottom end/manners, and with a smaller turbo and manifold, you won't reap the benefits of that much cam.

You should consider one of the drop in 300lhp pumps, like jayracing.

You could also use a 2G maf or speed density and save some $ there. The GM MAF is a waste of time/money for you, having V3.

Also if you are planning on sticking with a small turbo I would skip the SMIM. That will also move your power curve to a higher rpm. The stock manifold won't be a restriction with that turbo.

May I suggest going with a Hx35 or 40. They spool almost like a E3 16g but have an incredible top end. You could put those 272's to use and save money to buy a stroker kit.

WOW interesting read. I admire people who dont give up on there passions! Sounds like you have a nice list going and would love to see pictures of the car as it sits and the once you get done with it.

the car isnt much to look at, hood is off, fenders are off, hatch is off, LOL.

For turbo, what about a GT35R?
Would it be bad overkill? My dad mentioned his friend has it on his Evo and has been talking about going bigger and I could probably get it for like $700.

The car will and wont be a street car, and it will be tuned on Speed Density. I like to drive the car a lot, mainly just for cruising. My daily driver I just use in bad weather or times like now, or when I just am running a simple errand.

The Hx40 flows about the same as a GT40 and the Hx35 flows about the same as a GT30, both also have a quicker spool making them more street friendly. A Holset could be found for ~ $200 or less. I found mine on Cummins forums for $160. Though it will need probably need a rebuild ($40 for a kit) and a different exhaust housing(~$300).

I would say look into a Holset for a car for the street and with some oommff. :hellyeah:

I didn't mean exactly like. At the time I didn't remember the exact numbers but now I do. On a good tune a Hx35 can spool between 3500-3700 with a BEP bolt on housing. Not too sure on the Hx40, but it's bigger so it'll spool a bit slower.

The build looks good and you should hit your goals with the right tune and decent driving. The only thing I would change is the GM MAF, save yourself the trouble and go Speed Density. Also, what type of clutch disk do you plan on running with the ACT 2600 PP?

Gotta love the HTA68, it puts a smile on my face when I go WOT. LOL

I would look into a wideband from innovative motorsports. Theirs are digital and programmable, plus if using it with link, ecm tuning actually recommends them for compatibility with their software. They have a write up about widebands on their wiki, but I am posting from my phone right now and don't have the link. But, nothing wrong with aem, just my .02.

If someone has the link, post it otherwise I will when I get home.

Okay updating this, here's what I've bought and has arrived here.
Forced Performance Race Exhaust Manifold
Punishment Stainless Steel Recirculated 38mm WG MVS o2 housing

FIC Bluemax 1350cc injectors

Custom 3.25" FMIC with 2.75" Piping my dad's friend made for me, still needs a few modifications but can be mocked up as it sits now.
DSMLink V3 Full
I'm getting a quartermaster twin disc used for 6 track passes, soon as they get it out of the car. The shop my dad has his car dyno'd at, one of the employee's is going auto in his DSM so I'm getting it cheap. Also getting his Shep Stage 3 Trans so I won't have to build my own.
ACT Streetlite Flywheel
DKS 272 Cams (getting them for only $100 used, can't complain)
Kiggly Springs
Manley 1mm Over Valves
Ross Pistons 8.5 CR .20 over
Scat Rods
Prothane Motor Mounts
ARP Headbolts / Rod Bolts
ACL Bearings
JMFab Catch Can
AEM Wideband
Autometer Phantom Boost, Oil Pressure, and EGT gauges.

That's everything that I have so far.
I am getting an FPGreen turbo brand new not even installed. I'm getting it and $500 for my rusty awd legacy that I got super cheap and just drove through the winter when my N/T was turbo'd/built and not fun to drive in snow. Fine with me cause I only payed $700 for it LOL. It's a genuine brand new FPGreen, he just payed $1200 and has receipt for it back during the winter. I'm picking it up later tonight.

Car will be tuned on speed density.

So far I'm having really good luck, except my 93 N/T all the gauges just quit working! Blah, lights and everything work but none of the gauges do anything. I dont have turn signals either. I took dash off and put the one from the 94 on and it still doesn't work. Fuses are all fine, i just want my gas gauge to work LOL.

Other then that things are going smooth!
