2G Thinking about a rebuild

Yes, I have seen all of the post of 6-bolt v.s. 7-bolt. I'm sticking with the 7 bolt that I have and have it be rebuilt by a machine shop here in San Antonio. The estimate I've received is $1500 for a rebuild, the shop is also willing to install my parts: piston, rods, arp head studs, rod and crank bolts.

My question is what are some decent parts that I can get "good bang for my buck". ex: eagle, wiseco, manley, edge.
But, I'm thinking of going with wiseco and eagle.

I have read about not shaving the thrust journal for the fact it would change the clearances, which would give me issues.

I would like anyone's input for good parts for decent price. Yes, I know I cant get both. Better parts=more $$$$.

I use factory 7 bolt in my 2ga no issues. I have eagle/wiseco rotating assembly

I haven't dyno'd it buddy. I just tune to my boost level and let'r eat. Not really interested in the dyno

But in all honesty if you troll the web long enough you'll find some people selling internals that will let them go less then retail. Just takes time. just a get a build sheet and start filling in the blanks.

Hmm, first you need to state your power goals. Second, is the $1500 just labor and such? If so, you're better off buying a shortblock from a reputable national DSM shop if you are paying $1500 for assembly and then buying all your parts on top of that.

I have thought about buying/looking for internals from someone from the internet, but it's just something about used parts that makes me nervous.

Power wise-if I remember correctly stock motor with stock internals can make 350-400hp. But please let me know if that's wrong. I'm looking to get 500+... I wanna beat my cousins ls3 powered rx8, and possibly his sr20 240sx.

1500, I think is for them to rebuild it with new stock parts.. I will have to double check...

Just search around i found my eagle Rods and weisco pistons for like 300 each you just have to look around
