because 86 on a freeway is unheard of? We arnt debating safety and etc, we are debating that is very common and i believe it is an unbelievably insane punishment, 10grand and lose your car? That is WAY a worse of a punishment than a DUI. Hell I remember driving around in Columbus, going 80mph on the highway, and I am scared because I am being passed left and right, I mean I literally felt like my speedometer was broken and i was doing 40 on the highway.

And drug trafficing is very common in mexico. It's illegal, its unsafe for others, and people won't stop. What do you do to the level of punishment as a child keeps walking out in the road or keeps throwing large toys out of windows at passersby, though you've been already disciplining them?

A spank. But a spank vs 10grand fine and losing a car is a little different. Also in mexico, if you are one of the few not trafficking illegal drugs then it is very dangerous for you as well. Which is a good analogy to the speeding situation I gave, thanks.

Comparing illegal drug trafficking to this is absurd. If drugs were legal there wouldn't need to be any crime for it. Prohibition was a perfect example that crime and death went up when something like that was made illegal. If you make street racing and driving like an idiot legal there would be more deaths. Driving fast should be a "proper time and place" argument, not that if you drive fast at all it's only a matter of time that you will 100% kill someone. It's not evil to drive fast, but it is stupid to do so on a street with other cars or people vs. testing new mods on an empty long back road.

For anybody who tries to blame what happened in that video to either fake or stupid drivers, or even say you only drive fast when you know its safe on public roads..... YOUR ALL F***IN RETARDS!!!!! the whole point is accidents happen, even on tracks accidents happen. you can not control the outcome of it. that is as basic as the definition of what an accident can be. "I didn't mean too, I didn't see him step off the curb, he stopped to soon, or its not my fault he hit me" all replies given when someone gets into an accident.
So please don't tell me that the video is stupid or it's made up, just because the video is doesn't mean it hasn't happen somewhere at some point in time. Don't count yourself out of being in an accident like that because you don't drive like a lunatic because accidents happen in a kind of ways.
and as for the life happens comment, yeah it does but like stated earlier in the post put your families face on the innocent pedestrians who got hit because the driver didn't see them.

This is the hangout anything goes.

Not so much^

Anyway, I stopped reading after the first couple pages, I love hauling ass but doing way over the speed limit will not get you there noticeably faster. Knowing shortcuts, short/ less lights, lower traffic areas, will get you there faster than doing double the speed limit and will be a hell of a lot safer. Pay attention to the cars you haul ass past, and look for them when you get to the next redlight or stop sign, you will usually find them right behind you.

I deliver pizzas. I drive 150-200 miles a day in town, I know all the short cuts, and the best routes to take everywhere, I get 25-30 deliveries a day while the nearest competitor get's 20-25 and the average driver gets 17, it does not matter what car I am driving, and I go the speed limit.

Speed does kill. You can make a basic human mistake at 55 and walk away from it. You or whoever you hit wont at 100. You_cannot_predict_that_no_one_will_be_there_just_because_no_one_is_there_when_you_first_look.

. . .BTW, if I ever catch any of you speeding on my roads where my family moves about, I will make you personally pay. . . No threat. That's a promise. Everyone of you who says you're safe when you speed because you know how to drive is being thickheaded and rediculous. I like you all on here, but don't talk about going fast in public and say "well, I do it safely". I'm sorry, but no; you can't predict what some other person on a public roadway may do with 100% accuracy; when they may enter it, cross your lane, stop, whatever. You're still far less likely to kill or be killed on a track, any kind of track. Besides real men take it to the track where the objective is fair because the roadway is the same for both parties. 'Rolls' are for dinner and drifting is for the proper course. drag racing can't be fair on a public roadway, the roads arn't even enough. There's always a lane with an advantage on public roads. IF you think/say that's just the nature of street racing and accept it, then you're not man enough to put your driving/modding skills to a real test with another man's.
amen brotha. just cause u got a fast car dont mean u gotta drive like an a hole on public roads cause the people u share the roads with r just tryin to get somewhere where as
## selfish fun could easly leave a body trail. if i wasnt 30 yrs old n have a family tho mayb i would be tht a hole. like the saying " to be old n wise u must first b young n stupid"

Traffic deaths are at a 60-year low.

:shhh: why you gotta bring logic into this thread?

Anyone who uses "U" and "##" and can't properly form a sentence shouldn't be giving advice like they are "old and wise" because you still type like you're "young and stupid".

amen to ^ post, anyone who thinks they are a safe driver when they are speeding thinking they are being alert and knowing there suroundings, is either clueless or just plain ignorant. speed limits are posted for a reason, and most of the reason is for safe evasive actions in the area you are driving in, if the speed limit in a residential area, is 25 mph then it is for the reason that if someone jets out into the street then you will have a better chance of stopping before you hit them and i will tell you what if someone hits my daughter, i dont care if it was her fault i will be going to jail for life!

sry u cnt undrstnd shortend txt. It's ok when u grow up u'll undrstnd. used to txting on my phone its a habbit.

Just FYI. You will catch lots of hell for using short hand text here. Try to use full words and punctuation or many of your posts will get tore apart. Its a fight you will lose on this forum. Its part of the rules you agreed to when you signed up for your account and that will get thrown in your face if you try to argue against it.

really i didnt know that. thanks

i think some people fail to realize that only 8% of all fatal accidents involving cars are from speeding. driving drunk, sleepy or plain stupidity causes the rest...

"speed has never killed a soul, its suddenly becoming stationary that gets you" - Jeremy Clarkson

This video just is just about people not paying attention rather than speeding....Hell i speed everyday but not dumbfounded like these videos. You have to be very aware of your surroundings

If you are driving and a kid walks out in front of the car (because they arn't paying attention) you wont have time to react if you. If you were speeding or not that kid is more than likely gone.

They did this one too in the Think UK - anti speeding commercials:
YouTube - Think UK - Road Safety Ad

But I agree, the fact remains that a car is a dangerous object, no matter what speed it is going. What we can do is try to minimize the risk of danger to ourselfs and others.

A++ for the poster of this video. For the trolls of the forums it may not be you that causes one of these but it doesnt mean that there isnt someone wont do one of these stupid things and hits you or kills someone close to yeah. Be safe out there and watch what yeah do.

It doesnt matter how good of a driver you think you are, even the best crash.
If you make a poor decision and hurt someone, you have to live with it the rest of your life, along with their loved ones.

Simply stated, yet it speaks volumes.

Many actions are included under making “poor decisions.” Correspondingly, excessive speeding lies in the “poor decision” category while driving a vehicle.

Why does it seem that “less experienced” drivers (notice, I did not single out young people) think that speeding only relates to moving very fast? While driving, speeding is dependent on the conditions (road surface, lighting, surroundings, etc.). For those that expressed that this video does not relate to “speeding,” you need to broaden your viewpoint about speeding as it relates to the present conditions. Obviously, some of the accidents portray a lack of awareness by the victim, yet these illustrate the possibilities you face while driving.

I have worked with my share of automobile accident victims going through rehabilitation, and almost all of the injuries were a result of someone making a “poor decision” while driving (certainly, natural disasters do occur).

I see a view from both angles. some people think its a funny video cause they know the shits fake. yes. you are definately an immature little bi***, but ill include myself in that cause i see some shit sometimes thats just plain funny. I didnt laugh during the video only cause there was some actual real stuff in there. In case you didnt notice-_- But i also see all this from the other angle. The message is there regardless how u paint it. I didnt see much of speedin though so idk what your talking about, the message was clearly pay attention to the ####ing road. someone said it earlier but like guns dont kill people, neither do fast cars. I think this more applies to the dumbasses who text and shit. i text but guess what i know how to use my phone so i dont need to look at it when i drive. and even so i text veryyyy briefly to people so that if i do have to take my eyes off the road its for a split second(which might cost me someday.

I see everything this way. Dont drive like a dumbass. Be patient. who follows the speed limit anyways just be somewhere near it dont be a dumb douche and drive 35mph over the speed limit EVERYWHERE U GO. thats just plain dumb.

BTW the video also showed pretty damn stupid pedestrians. Look both ways before u cross dumbass no matter how far or close the car is u will be able to tell whether its slowing down or ####ing ramming u at 60+ mph. if your not sure u can cross, then dont -_-

Um yeah, talk about baseless facts...did you make that number up off the top of your head?

True fact: You can tell when most people are lying on numerical based questions and answers as they default to an even number.

the one where the corvette fishtails into the back of a semi, the car was torn in half, and the guy escaped with barely a scrape on his leg, saw that on another show.

When I bought my first car, we dared each other to get hit at slower speeds, and try to roll over the hood.. It worked good a few times then we decided to go faster (like 15 mph) and my friend smashed the windsheild and rolled over the car on the ground. He was completely ok, got up walked it off. Any faster would be crazy tho. heh

hahaha that kinda remined me about these dumbasses i use to know. i use to see them do stupid shit all time but i saw them at a stoplight, i was with another friend. And they were behind one another, and my friend michael in the back car was pushing my other friend kinda into traffic, but not that far it was just dumb. haha

Eh not too bad. All depends on if the person recieving the hit knows how to take it.

Like i said earlier in this tread, kid i knew in HS (played both basketball and football) got hit in the schools crosswalk by a Mack truck doing 45 easy through the road that divided both campuses. When he reacted, he jumped in the air, curled into a ball and hit the upper right portion of the grille area, which ejected him a good buslength and a half down range and onto the sidewalk. He walked away with a dislocated shoulder and scrapes as you would. The kid was invincible on the field that year, i guess when you go toe-to-toe with a Mack truck and win, staring down linebackers doesnt phase you anymore.

i just hold the phone down to my side by the shifter and text with my right hand (which usually just holds the shifter anyways, which doesnt move during most my commute). I dunno, i guess the retards against TWD have no button memorization (even touch screens can be memorized) and gotta stare at the screen to input "K be there in 10" and hit send.
