Thick white smoke after eng. warmed up

ok i just put in a used motor w/75,xxx miles and a 14b turbo. the engine started up and runs good. while idleing it runs smooth and there is no smoke. after taking it out on the street when the turbo kicks in it starts smoking real bad (smelly white smoke) like burning oil. i did a compression test with a dead battery and i had about 130 across all cyl. i looked at the spark plugs and they look fine. The turbo spins freely and has no shaft play. i dont know what the problem is? any sudjestions.

bad oil seals in the turbo. Does it only smoke under boost ?

Also mine used to smoke under WOT when I an oil leak at my return line at the pan. Check for other oil leaks hitting the exhaust pipes. If not I vote on the turbo seals being bad.

yup only on boost and after. how hard is it to change the seals? But when the car is idleing and i rev it up to were the turbo spools up it doesnt smoke. only when i drive it!

if it IS the turbo, just get a replacement 14b or a s16g from the classifieds or the dsmtrader. To replace the seals by themselves would be worthless, I would just buy a new s16g if you don't have crazy plans for the car.

When you said reving it in neutral, sure the car makes boost but the turbo ain't straining as bad as when your in gear boosting it.
