Hello every one,
I don't post here often. But I do come here from time to time. So I decided I would post my story on my Drag Talon.
Got this car in 1998 as a graduation gift. And it was a great one!!!!!:hellyeah:
It is a 1995 Talon Tsi FWD AUTOMATIC
So, I drove it a while 2 years in stock form with big chrome wheels (16" back then that was da shit:p) and booming audio and tv's
Then I met some good friends and they got me into racing. in 2000

At this point I knew nothing about building a race car or racing
First mods was an old mutt turbo from I think dsm turbo or something likr that. I know they were in Alabama. With this turbo and few minor mods I went
13.7 @103 with 18" tires.

So I ditched the auto
bought a wrecked 96 eclipse GST for parts and did a manual conversion
Yeah big task for a newbe but nevertheless got it done
With the same minor upgrades and mutt turbo and my best friend Archie driving went 13.4 @109 This was at Ifo Baton Rouge back in 2002 (I think that was the year)

Got crank walk. This is where the fun began :sneaky:

I bought a crate motor from polk performance in 2003 and installed it and tuned it myself.

Street ported head
JE Gas ported pistons
Eagle Rods
2.3 Stroker crank
All Arp
ect ect ect
60 trim t3/t4
Haltech E6k
Fuel Cell
850cc injectors
And some other mods
With Don Polk himself (rip) driving for me at the 2003 Ifo Baton Rouge car went 12.5 @122 This was fwd 24.5" slicks

The dead end corner of this street was my work shop LOL!!!!

So the car was fast but I wanted a 10 second car. So I broke the trans in winter of 03. With some thought and a lot balls :hmm: I decided to go in no mans land and try to do awd conversion. I had a local buddy bring his 95 awd talon to my house where I jacked it up in the air. I layed under his car with a flash light and examined it for about an hour. Suprisingly, the chassis was the same:rocks:

So I sourced a used awd tranny transfer case and front axles from a guy in north carolina
I got a the rear end, subframe spindles axles ect ect ect.... from junkyard in Michigan (wich sucks because I didn't know how pwrts rust up there)
Ordered aan aluminum drive shaft drom driveshaft shop
It took 2 days to do conversion. Had no problems on first test drive other than the exhaust sytem falling and dragging it for about a mile ROFL

On the first pass with the awd conversion and on pump gas 19" wheels car went 11.7@123 So I was making good progress to my goal

Some local guys got a dyno in early 04 (Corr performance) and I did more tuning and used race gas and nitrous. In early 04 car went 10.90 @126 first pass
I lifted early because I was a little suprised by the power. Went I went to get my time slip, they say "go see tech"
The tech was cool. Walked to me with a big country ass smile and said "Boy that thang is moving. but you ya gotta slow it down cause you aint got no cage"
It felt good. I was all smiles
so I tell him let me run again and wont use nitrous. He says "alright, but if you go too fast ima have to shut ya down"
so next pass 11.0@130 no nitrous and still on street tires

I love this part of the story. That was a hell of a run with those 19" wheels if you still had them on. Awesome story.

Glad you all enjoyed my little story. It continues. When I have more time i will write part II :D
Sorry if this not correct place.
