Its just so hard to find a 6bolt 1g with the newer body style thats not automatic, or beaten to hell. :/

Man $2k??? Are you serious?? I'm sorry but that comment is ####ing ignorant. It's shit like that that disgusts me with this forum. Again, apologies... That car is worth at least $4000. But it depends on what you want to do with it as to whether you should buy it or not. If you want a DD or weekend driver that would be a great car and you could do it with maintanence. If you want a track car, look elsewhere because like steve said, a rebuild is probably necessary with this car and it won't be the cheapest thing to do. But if done and done right, it is totally worth it.

the 3S's are really expensive probly the vr4 being the most expensive but I've seen stealth TT's in fair condition with 150k plus miles going for at least 4k. Good condition ones sit around 5-7k. But I live in Fla, and everything is known to be expensive here.:sosad:

holy jebus. can i help you pull the stick out of your a**? it was a joke. no one in their right mind would sell a TT s/3k unless the engine wasnt in it

The body is in pretty good shape for the miles. Its only going to be a DD and Ill probably just put a boost gauge on it. Im just wondering what they are worth, KBB says 2900 in fair condition and I think it is in slightly better shape than fair. I was thinking of showing with 3k and offering around 2-2.5k but again thats why Im asking you guys.

how much is he asking for it? I would say a good price to try would be 4k is the norm 3.5k you can get away with and lowball him for 3k is about right... I've seen them retail for like 8-10k in good shape. I miss my 3000GT VR4

Hey all, this is my first post on DSMTuners. I read all the rules, guidlines, policies, and what not and couldn't find any thing about posting a thread like this. Hope its ok! I don't has a DSM yet, but I am looking for one, mainly the 2G GSX. I stumbled across this one...

How much would you pay for this GSX:

Its a 1997 Eclipse GSX. It has 83,000 miles. Mint interior, power everything, blah blah. He said the transmission needs to be rebuilt. He described the problem in an email as this:

It is drivable, but I don't know for how long. It shifts fine, but when you
let off the gas while moving in gear, it's got a bad coast down rumble.
Definitely needs rebuilt. It may go anywhere between 5 miles and 5000 miles,
I just don't know.

The car is located in Cleveland, about 60 miles away from where www.sheptrans.com is located, the trans would be rebuilt there if I were to buy the car. John at sheptrans charges about $950 for a rebuild.

The seller wants $7500 for the car and everything on it. How much would you pay?

Thanks,
-John

What's it worth to you?? How badly do YOU want the car? Some people here might pay 10k for that and others wouldn't pay 5k. It all depends on what your willing to spend. If however you can get together another 7.5k you can have mine:D .

I'm looking for one to buy with decent milage that isn't beat to... I'm in Cincinnati, OH and currently have about $7,200. I'd like to get one soon, and this one seems like it would be awesome considering the low miles and decent mods done to it. But is it worth it?

I'm trying to dodge the rebuild, but I know nothing about DSM transmissions. Maybe there could be a way to fix it without dropping $950?

-John

Also, I did some quick research on the mods he listed, and I got a total of about $2,500, all parts being new. Not sure if that helps or not.

If it didn't have any problems in it, I'd pay $7000 for the miles on it. Since it needs a tranny rebuild, I would offer $6000.

I paid $7750 for mine with 53k on it.

That rumble sounds like a nice 3 inch exhaust side effect. Offer him 6700 and then inspect the "Problem" your self. Dont forget about tags title and transfer. A shep tranny would be better than blowing another 2000 on him fixing the "problem" for you.

value?guy is asking 15k.

i might be buying a 91 talon tsi awd from a friend for 800 bux

here s the thing. the engine was bad that was in it, so he yanked out the old one and droped in a j-yard engine. Now with that said, the only thing this car needs is the wirign h arness plugged into the engine and odds and ends like the turbo bolted up ect. the body is in great condition and has 150k on it, interior is excellent too the only downfall on the interior is a. its tan and b. it is missing the tr unk peice inside.....so....you guys think i should snag it?

If its in good enough shape I would grab it up. The motor most likely is not that good from a junk yard and no way to tell it even runs without turning her over. I would do it if the body is good enough. Maybe offer him $500

2nd the $500 offer. Chances are there is something else wrong with it..Why cant he finish it and sell it fot $2k? $500 and you still can make your money back with another engine/tranny if it needs it.

he bought a honda civic and fixed that up...thats why it isnt finished, it comes with an extra 6 bolt longblock that he said had skiped timing.

teh original price was 1k, then 800 maybe offer him 650-700? teh body is in great shap just needs a paint job from the clear peeling

Well I mean worst comes to worst you cant make as big as a mistake i made buying my dsm. I bought mine for 7000 for some reason. mainly because the motor was rebuilt and all the internal parts and whatnot. But the best part is yet to come. I drove it for a week and then the tranny went out on me. Personally. i would buy it. mainly because i love these cars there fun to work on and theres always something to fix.

If it jumped timing the valves in the head is gone and the pistons most likely slamed the valves destroying those. So the other motor needs a rebuild. Also most DSM's in the junkyards usually have blown motors from timing being jumped, so most likely the other motor is bad. Who builds a civic over a DSM, people these days. LOL

7000, holy crap for a 1g. I would never spend over 4k for a 1g. The dyno shop sold a perfect 1g with a real JDM evo 3 motor swap that dynoed 375whp for 4K

Edit
I wouldnt really spend over 2k for a 1g. I spend 1k on my piece of crap but I was young and stupid.
