I paid 6500 for the car in my profile.. 67,000 miles in '05.. Its a 93 gsx. Stock everything with a turbo timer on a 14b!! Pioneer cd player. A bunch of speakers... The kid thought he had a sound competition car... And it had 17" wheels and Nittos on it..

It now has 107,000 on it, and nothing is original...

Its the most I ever paid for a car... And i dont regret it....

I paid $600 for a 91 eclipse GS 5 spd with 8/10 body and 7/10 interior with 82k. :thumb: That sounds about the 1k to 1.5k for what you're describing.

Well, what if I re-do the exterior make about a 9/10 and the interior about an 8/10 and rebuild the motor? would that increase the price any or no? And if I find someone who knows something abuot DSMs would a small 16g turbo and a new catback exhaust do anything to help? Tryin' to beef it up, Havn't had much luck, and I have some of the stuff I need for the turbo conversion minus the pistons.

I paid $3800 for a 2ga gsx 5 speed with 118,000 miles. came with a fmic, B16g, 650's. really clean body and interior.

Thanks for pointing that out. I knew of that thread but didn't realize it was a sticky, seached two pages for it. OMG Feel free to delete this mods.

You know how this site works for grammar and punctuation. Rough night?

1991 mitsubishi eclipse gsx

I was checking this car out, it seems to have been modded like he knew what he was doing. It doesnt say how many miles are on it though. Kinda worried about that. Hes asking 6k which seems reasonable for the info he gives, but how much do you think I could get off that with cash. I have 5500 to spend.

It seems like a reasonable price. Try to lower him down to 4500 to 5000 though. The worst that can happen is he will say no.

Weird, just a couple days ago I was looking at that car. :p
Yeah try talking him down though 6 is a little much for a 91.

clean car, try to lowball him, and dont be afraid to walk away if he dosent accept your offer at first, just make sure he has your contact info, i bet in a few days he will accept the offer.

Always works for me.

$6k for a 1g is way too much in my eyes. If it ran, drove, and looked just about perfect, I'd still only want to shell out $5k if it was exactly what I wanted. Of course I'm always looking for a deal...
Most decent 1g's are HALF that price.

Wow its been a while since I've been around here. Hello all!

I still have my car, curious to see if I were lucky the absolute what the market is now for 2g gsxs. Yes theres many more details to consider, but I'm just looking for a general opinion. I would think it would be a hell of a find.

92000 miles / perfect compression across the board / purchased from the original owner, a much older gentleman / top products used / always garaged / never got to take her to the track, very well kept / etc etc; no major problems

An easy way to further describe the condtion: a 92k awd with the STOCK clutch grabbing strong. :thumb:

Thanks! (I still don't know how I could emotionally deal with selling it though...)

So a teacher of mine was parked one morning about 2 weeks ago in front of the atm machine and she left her 98 awd tsi running and she heard something break, well she couldn't start it after and had it towed to a garage. We talk about her car alot and she told me the day it happened in school and she was considering selling after this. Well long story short I come back from christmas break and she tells me that the timing belt tensioner snapped and the valves got bent and the cas was damaged. She said she'd sell it to me for like 3000 the way it is now or sell it after she fixes it for like 8 or 9 grand. Well my question is how much money I am I looking to spend after a timing belt tensioner has snapped and caused this damage? Should I wait till she fixes it to save me the trouble? It's got around 115,000 miles on it and she is the second owner and had it in 98 with 15,000 miles. The body of the car is in excellent shape, she always babied it and keeps its clean and garaged. Up untill this happened she drove it to school like every other day. I'll attach a pic just for the heck of it.

Pick up all new timing components from your local dealer and find a used head. That is one good looking DSM. If you know what you're doing you can get this car running for not very much.

I tried explaing that to my father but he says that I shouldn't buy something that I can't drive home(LOL I just think he's hatin' because he's big muscle car guyLOL)

doubt the pistons got jacked if it was simply idleing. they can take a couple of good hits, ask me how i know LOL. it would take around $500 to fix everything if you did it yourself (timing components/waterpump, head gasket and a few valves). the valves are what killed me where i live. the machine shop charged $120 for the head job but $10 for each new valve and 12 were bent)
