A mechanic who does frequent dsm work told me that with the proper amount of time, energy, and coin. One could cram a stealth tt motor and drive terrain in a dsm. Now is he full of shit? If not how much time, energy and coin we talking? I realize this will not be an unbolt rip out bolt in job. But how much would it take?

Why?

eh there's not point.. as far as the possibility of it? who knows..

spend the 3-6k you'd spend on the swap and get a 20g with supporting mods.. i bet you'll be twice as fast then just the 6g72 swap
 
You can do anything. However, a "swap" like this is more akin to wrapping a DSM around the motor. It'd be lots more than drop, dent, build, mount.

Oh, and I'd not let that mechanic do much more than change your plugs.
 
As other people have said, the swap is far from a simple bolt up. If you really wanted to have something unique you could do it, but you should look into a shop that is used to doing lots of custom work like this. Most likely to make this engine fit, structural parts of the DSM frame will have to be cut/altered, so you want to make sure that everything is reinforced and done right.
 
Why?? with exhaust and intake youll be just as fast as a tt 3kgt. Plus youll be much lighter and can kill em on the higway and 1/4. The 4g63 is very easy on making serious hp and taking all the abuse. So why change a good thing??

Thats a beautiful DC-3, where is that from? did you take that pic?
 
The 6g72 will fit into a 2g dsm, however there is no room left for the turbos. but on a side note, why would you even consider this swap. so far to date, the fastest 3s car has run a 10.7 and the highest horsepower that a 6g72 has made without melting was 850. as far as I'm concerned the 4g63 is a much better engineered motor. also the drivetrain from a 3s is crap. the getrag trans can barely handle stock hp. Just build up you 4g and you'll be alot happier faster and get better gas mileage.
 
Hahaha took me a few seconds to realize "drive terrain" didn't mean mudding/hill-climbs. Hewked awn foneeks, woohoo.
 
I heard a guy talking about this same swap. I was kinda like "WTF" in my head when he told me but he said it would be much faster and he knew someone who already did it.

Might be some variant of the motor, but there ya go.
