This has been an on going debate with a fellow dsm lover and I. We came to the conclusion to post this question asking the dsm freeqs of the world and go from there to end our argument. The question is this, is it possible to build a naturally aspirated 440+ hp eclipse?

Sure it's possible, but not plausible, that's great...
Come on man, boost is where it's at bottom line.
It would take thousands of $$$ to build a N/A eclipse to 440+ that would not run on pump guaranteed.

Anyone can build any factory boosted Eclipse/Laser/Talon to the 440+ hp mark with a 50 trim on pump, and supportin mods.
I bet it can be done for anywhere between 3.5 to 5k you could be boosted up to 440+ easy...
If you want 440+ hp out of an N/A Eclipse, drop in a V8.
Cubic inches is where it's at for a N/A application.
The arguement sucks BTW...

No we have just been arguing about the question if its possible. of course its not cost effective to do so but i do believe its possible. hell anything is possible with enough green!

Given the stock block to work with I think it would be very difficult if not near impossible. You'd be trying to reach 220hp/liter which is a very lofty goal.
