2G The Best Wheel size for Functionality and Performance

Hi!

Basically my car is running: 225/40R18
I have no clue what the offset is...

I bought the car like this and I am starting to hear a screeching sounds when I drive or when I turn my wheel fully.

Not only that my tires on the inside are seriously getting damaged.

My guess is that the offset is not right. I have no clue...

My style of driving is mostly for the mountain pass (touge), grip driving

Now what I was wondering. What would be the best for pure performance and functionality.

Here is what I was thinking of:
17 inch wheels
225 tire width with 8 inch wide wheels
Offset? I have no clue maybe 35?

Also speaking of PCD... since im a newbie. I guess the correct PCD is 5/114.3?

Give me some recommendations...

Also which offset is best
ET+35? Or something else

In my personal opinion;

235/45/17 tire on a 17x8 wheel, good ride, good clearance, reasonable priced tires and good performance. I've cut a high 1.5 60' on my street tires on this setup.

Okay that sounds good but what is your offset (ET) when running that?

I already have problems with my 225 18x8. I guess it is because of the offset...

I've cut a high 1.5 60' on my street tires on this setup.

235/45 on 17x8 +35 should do you right.

Is your car really low? Maybe 245/40**

I agree with the last two comments.

17x8 +35 is your overall best wheel size for these cars. 235/45 or a 245/40 tire work well.

You being FWD, I'd go 235/45. 225 Nitto 555s did little for me on my 1g FWD -- I was still lighting them into third gear.

Being AWD now, I'm still wanting to go 235. My 245s are too damn wide.
