hi,
i am interested in putting 18" motegi MR-7 wheels on my 1991 plymouth laser. my only problem is i do not know if they will fit in the wheel well with tires. if anyone out there has 18" wheels on their laser....please let me know so and also tell me what size tire you have on the wheel. i would also like to know how snugly they fit in the wheel well. if 18's dont fit i guess i will have to go for 17 inch wheels. what is a good size tire that would fit a 17" wheel?

thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me

The chart they include tells you they will. Also, the available bolt patterns match the DSM bolt pattern. The tires are a decent size. 225/40/18 should fit just fine. Diamondback's aren't the greatest tire, but they do in pinch, as you say. :) I've sold a few and none of them have come back for warranty issues. I don't know if I'd trust them in the snow, however.

The rims are purty. :D

I had 225/45r18's on mine for a long time and still didn't fill my wheel wells.

I now have 215/75r15's on mine. They fit so well. Perfectly fills the wheel wells, with a little more than enough room for comfort for play. :hellyeah:

My overall diameter is supposedly 27.7", and my old diameter was 26" Even.

So just look up
Tire size calculator
and just keep your overall tire diameter under 27ish inches and you'll be fine:thumb:

Here's how the 27.7" diameter ones fill the wells.

Those are some huge side walls!

To answer your question, I've run the same size before without problems. I actually want to go back to 18's.

Yeah they are, but 1) it's coming to winter season, and 2) It's AWD so I think it makes it sexier :D and 3) I am an EMT/Firefighter so I get calls sometime when i have to park off-road and my car LOVED small holes in the ground to blow up on when I had low profiles rofl.

I currently have 225/45/17s on 17x8 +45mm.

I would like to get 245's on the car, but the inside looks really tight. I'll settle for 235 if i have to, but I'm not willing to run spacers.

Do you think 245/40/17s would fit?
If i have to settle for 235's should i go with a profile of 40 or 45?

I just bought R32 GTR Skyline rims and they are 16x8 with a 30mm offset. For my 1GB, would I be better off with 245/50 or 245/45 for road racing?

Not only is that tire too wide, it's almost 2" taller in diameter.

Stock 2g tires and wheels are 215/50/17 on a 17x6.5 +46mm offset.
Stock tire diameter is as follows:

215/50/17
215/25.4*.5*2+17= 25.5" in diameter.

235/55/17
235/25.4*.55*2+17= 27.2"

Plug in all of the tire and wheel dims Here and see for yourself.

1g....
possible to run a 17"x8.5" rim.....

im looking at the RPF1's they come in a +30 and +40 offset

+30 has 3mm less room towards the strut.
+40 has 13mm less room

is it going to be an issue with the +30?

--------------------------------------------------

also just used this

and it says that a 17x8.5 +40 is acceptable, compared to OE wheel specs
9mm (.6") closer to the suspension.

I found a nice deal on some new wheels that I'm looking to buy. They're 17 x 8.5 +38mm offset. I was wanting to run 235-45's but will they fit under a stock suspension on my 1gb?

yeah, 225/40/18 will work fine. I am running an 18x8" wheel with the same tire size and a +42 offset. Wheel fitment is perfect. I'm running a different suspension though... I have Tein SS Coilovers. I didn't drop it all the way though, because I didn't want that "slammed" look.

They probably going to rub the struts

They're going to rub the struts for sure in the front

Can someone help me im buying a new set of wheels 18x9.5 i just dont know which offset should i run? My car has ksport coilovers, brembo calipers from an Evo VIII and fender flears so it doesnt matter if they stick out of the fenders a little

K, well i have 18's now. i think they are 18x8's... i am running 215/35r18 tires and absolutely hate it. Im trying to see whats the biggest tire i can fit i have megan coilovers on it. i was thinking maybe 240/40/18 or something along those lines. any info would be appreciated. thanks

Well, I've been reading through, but I can't find my answer, so I might as well ask.

I'm running a 1Gb FWD on circuit/autox, and I was wondering what wheel width and offset I should run if I was to go with a 17" wheel and a 245 tire?

Ok, I guess that kind of helps. I was hoping for lighter, stronger wheels maybe. 2-piece if I could? Well I guess I could investimigate the evo wheel specs. Thanks for the suggestion though.

For reference for others that may wonder as I had, the Evo 8 & 9 wheelts are 17x8, +35 off. with a 67.1mm centre bore. Evo 8 Enkies are 22 lbs each, Evo 9 Enkies are 20lbs each, and the Evo 8/9 MR BBSs are 17lbs each.

Without squeezing, you can fit 245/40R17 (0.6% slower than speedo readout) and 245/45R17 (3.5% faster than speedo readout) on the Evo wheels.

Specs were per evopedia.net, and wheel/tire speed specs were per me.
