Was not impressed. No kick what do ever the 1g was quick that car wasnt. Idk maybe just an auto what you think? Mods thermal exhaust that's it.

True though, that's a lot of pig iron to move, esp with AWD using an auto W4A33 tranny.

Maybe disconnect the rear end drive line and run it FWD, then it might have some bite to it.

Be good to mod it up to higher HP and torque, then you can can some fun with that auto.

H4, Thx for the correction - I soon realized that why I did the edit to remove my "1G" comment.

They can be fun as stock - you know that the thing will not give you any problems ... just the risk when you mod and hope it all turns out okey at the end.

Stock 2gs are slow...but once you start modding, you'll be surprised.

A simple dave brode upper intercooler pipe (there's a huge restriction in the stock piping to accomodate the airbox) will wake the car up. And then you can get a fuel pump, boost controller and exhaust; add a 14b to the equation and you're running low 13s...and that's maybe $500 and you've dropped a bit over 2 seconds in the 1/4.

I bought my 2g bone stock in 2003 so went through the whole upgrade path thing...

I sometimes think i had more fun with my car when it was stock then i do now :(

This. It was finely tuned to give peak power from 2-3.5 k RPM. Just drive it.

Was nice and stealth, could speed without worrying about cops hearing you from 1/2 mile away. Nice punch at the normal driving RPMs.

However, can't wait to have twice the stock horsepower. I know my car is way un-tuned at the moment.

But yeah, like olmytsi said, you can get a nice power jump for cheap without making the car much louder, just by doing the UIP/BOV, intake and a couple more PSI (manual boost controller).

Agreed with the general consensus. A stock DSM isn't a world beater at all. With $500 and some know how though, they can be pretty quick. Especially with the Auto AWD's. A shiftbox or a shift-kit really helps an Auto's "fun factor" though, imo. Full control over every shift, feeling 100% line pressure and faster shifts than any human being could do...pretty addicting imo.

But, most stock Auto cars period are kind of boring/unimpressive. This coming from an Auto fanatic.

autos are nice for lazy days but its a dsm so auto or not give it a little kiss :)

Auto's are especially nice for stop and go traffic as well. I hated my old 5-speed in the mornings and afternoon traffic in Denver and here in FL as well, so driving in my Auto now I can just lay back, sip on a nice drink, and just relax. Plus when I'm at the track and want to go fast, it'll compliment it well. :)

I think this thread is pointless, but that's just me.

Tech question or trash.
