So I finished my downpipe last week and had an open wastegate dump. For steet driving I find it obnoxious. So I decided to fab up a recirculated setup. Long story short my longevity 200sx wasn't having it. After a few good welds my hf start stopped working intermittently and my welds became terrible ..... needless to say I think it's times to buy a new machine. It's not optimum but it fits good and should work just fine.

Looks good! Haha... I actually liked being able to hear the wastegate opening and got used to the noise. It felt weird when I ran the internally gated 68hta, it's soo quiet!!

Should help a bit. At least he won't be smelling the exhaust fumes LOL
I honestly hate the sound that much, I have two setups, the second is a standard dump when I hit the track.....I'm sure if your running an open downpipe you can't even tell.

Nice job dude! I'm certified in stick welding, but that's probably better than I could have done with a tig. I like the bellows you used to accommodate for heat expansion .

I wish I had a better tig welder.... I have a longevity 200sx, I'd like the miller dynasty 200dx.....throws down some serious beads

I dump to atmosphere, after a while you get used to it and I don't really notice it anymore. *shrug* Maybe it has to do with the angle and direction it's pointed?

Have you cleaned and adjusted the HF points?
Yup, didn't change a thing , you know what's weird, that day I started welding and everything was fine then all of a sudden the metal after I made a weld would like crackle and pop.... shoot out LOL pieces. Really weird man.... I went through an entire bottle of argon trying to get the damn welder to initiate a spark.

^ We use old Miller Syncrowave 350 & 351's at work.. old machines, but they have a lot of ass and work well. Really I find a lot of the new fancy features aren't really needed if you're decently skilled. They're what I have learned on so, I don't know what I'm missing with some of the new fancy machines LOL. Which is fine with me!

I'm externally gated dumping right below the DP on my car.. it's not terribly loud or annoying, with the IR BCS doing it's magic it's kinda cool to hear it cycling through the dump tube.. but to each their own. nice welds, better then I can do but I'm working with hobart welder that's about as old as I am LOL

I welded a electric cutout into my exhaust so I think the hp lost from recirculating the exhaust is minimal. When im racing I just flip a switch. I love fabricating, I learned on the Longevity 200sx, the longevity doesn't weld aluminum very well. Im looking forward to seeing what kind of beads I can throw down with this miller.Cant wait.

For less cash you can get the Lincoln tig200. More features, comes with a great pedal and torch, 120/240v, and the extra 20a really helps with aluminum.
They were offering a 500 dollar rebate so I got it for a good deal. Im just happy to have a quality welder. I love tig welding. Im going to build myself a top mount manifold and downpipe setup....

Fell in love with these

Well let me know brother! I'm sure you'd love to know it would complete many more dsm projects.

Congrats on the upgrade
