It was time for me to change my intercooler. Going with a backdoor setup. Cut the end tanks and made new ones. Overall I'm happy with it. Need to work on my bead consistency and starts and stops. The intercooler is 35"x8"x3.5". Let me know what you think.

The welds are just a bit on the thick side but as long as it holds pressure, youre fine I guess. Some people dont know how much of a pain aluminum is to weld. Takes a ton of practice to get it looking perfect. Im really liking how people on these boards are willing to build their own setups. Not even for the money saving aspect either. In my opinion, it make the car that much better when you can say that you did it yourself rather than forking out tons of money to someone to do a job like that.

Overall not bad i like it. you need to control your wrist a little more cause some of the beads i saw could of been made in one pass. I like to run the amperage a little higher and dip faster it helps . What amperage are you on?

113 on the tank welds and 150 on the tank to the core welds

+1 For doing it yourself. And definitely don't take all the welding criticism to heart. Your welds are fine. They get the job done and don't look like a complete turd. I've seen MUCH worse. Keep it up!

If you ever make another one try it with more amperage. I just set mine to 185 and control the amperage with the pedal. Either way i think the fmic came out good.

Thanks for the advice. I actually have 2 more intercoolers to build.
