Looking at picking up a turbo off a friend for a project I'm working on. The numbers on the housing are 49177-01900 and TD04. Best I can tell, this is a TD04-13G from a 2.0 auto 4G63.

If that's the case, does anyone know what the stock wastegate is set at? I really can't run anymore than 10psi, so I want to make sure this will work for me.

Also, while I'm thinking about it. This turbo vs. a stock 2g T25 - Which one will spool faster, and make 10psi sooner than the other?

Thanks.

I believe Mitsu sets stock wastegates at 9 psi for these turbos. As for which hits 10psi quicker, 10 psi on the 13g is not the same as 10 psi on the t-25.

A 13g will flow 360cfm versus a t-25 at 325 cfm.

Thanks blackGSX2g. I've recieved a few different opinions on this turbo, but most are saying this is too small for a 1.5L SOHC motor.

This is for use in my autocross car - I'm making the move to SM while I finish my CP car, and I need the boost to come on early for the slower corners (my car's weakpoint).

Just for you, ddavisaf, I updated my profile.

For everyone else, this is for a 1999 Hyundai Accent with a 1.5L SOHC.

would these people also happen to be honda guys? if so i personally wouldnt listen to 90% of what they say about turbos. this is from personal experience most of them dont know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to turbos. personally i would say this would be an excellent turbo for you. its small which means fast spool time and you arent planning on pushing much boost. the honda guys seem to have a thing for the t3/t4 setups even tho they are not very effiecent where most hondas run. look at the flow maps etc. or call up one of the venders and ask them their personal opinion on what to use

I'm not sure what guys they were - mainly opinions from folks over on Grassroots Motorsports.

They now have me looking at a 14b from a 1g, which I can have for the same price. I will have to pull the compresser maps and compare.

Thanks for your input, I really do appreciate it.

Personally, I would go with the 14b. It has put DSMs into the 12s without a problem. You would flow more air at less boost on your application, and I doubt you would have any spoolup problems; especially with your higher compression motor.
