Before I go any further with my build, I need to know if I should run an oil cooler for my N/A motor running a tiny 13g. I know someone who was going to sell me a 90 OFH, but I dont know if he has the cooler/lines for it, so that could be a lost cause in itself. But I plan on running a stock SMIC, stock pipes, stock everything basically, and probably an auto computer with 390's. Any thoughts?

What's the problem.Sounds like you have done the right researching..You should probably get a stock oil cooler..It's always a good idea..You don't want to cook the oil.Cause thats the turbo's blood.

You will need the 13g coolant lines and oil feed. The oil drain is not 13g specific.

Ahh 13g..You will like that alot.. The auto fpr is not the same as the 5 speed fpr, and the injectors are 390 cc.. If you plan on brake boosting, the auto ecu is not gonna be fun..It will retard timing the longer you brake boost.

No need for a oil cooler if you are not autocrossing the car. I switch a ton of my customer cars to the mighty max filter housing and it has no cooler provisions.

Then maybe I should just get 450's and a regular turbo ecu...haha. But I have no idea where to get a feed line for the 13g. there was one on it when i got it, but they bent it to fit in the box to ship it, and it stressed the line, and it cracked when i tried to bend it back.

Get a braided SS oil feed and be done with it..

The 450s are going to be waay more injector than you need..Remember the 1g turbo model is under 8 compression..The n/t is over 10.

So unless you have an safc,I may stick with the auto ecu and 390s..It's not like the turbo model where you can just swap in 450s on an auto with the right stuff from a 5 speed model.

Even 390s are great upgrades for the turbo honda guys.

I think your right, on the fuel injectors. However you need a fuel pump and I would do a re-wire If you have a few extra bucks. You will need a fuel pressure reg as well. Stock 1gs get overran and since your a N/A you have more base pressure at idle and way less pressure up top. Get a 1g SS Banjo line. FP has what u need there. Good luck on the build. Eventually you might want DSM link so you can control timing and fuel. You might have some knock issues with a high compression motor.

Thats the great thing about my car, its a stock turbo car with a harness, i just bought the shell because my 91 laser was rotten as hell, but it was free. I only had to change the MAF plug, and get a FIC delete plug for the resistor pack to run my N/T injectors. Lifters are the only thing that has been bothering me with my motor, and I'm putting in revised ones tomorrow. So basically I can swap in almost any turbo part requiring an electrical connection, so I lucked out big time. Did the auto computers have knock senor drivers in them? I mean, I can just buy a knock sensor and plug it right into my harness, and thread it into the hole in the back of my block, right?

I think you missed something. My shell is a stock turbo car, I'm running a non turbo setup. I converted what I had to to run my N/A components. What I'm saying is that when I DO go to do the swap, My harness already has plugs and such for turbo parts; solenoids, MAF, Resistor pack, fuel pump, ect..

Just out of sheer curiosity. Why would you go through the hassle of making your 4G63-T N/T? Unless of course you dropped in a N/A 4G63 in it's place. Even though, turbo versions aren't that much more expensive and don't require as much of a hassle when swapping over.

edit: nvm, looks like I answered my own question. looks like you dropped in your n/a4g63 in that turbo shell.

Yep, haha. I had a non turbo motor from a 91 laser, and bought a 90 shell that happened to be a Laser RS-T.

Not to change topics all of a sudden, but could I safely run 390cc injectors on a regular M/T turbo computer? It seems the auto ones are harder to find...go figure.
