i just checked my bank account and i recieved $600 from the govt. 'boost the economy money' i thought they wernt giving this out till like the middle of may. any one else get this yet?

They give them out based on the last two digits of your SSN. What are your last two digits? Im trying to guess when i get mine.

what i think is really crappy about this deal is my last 2 of my ssn and my gfs last 2 are the same...she has direct deposit and gets hers next week...i got a check and have to wait till the middle of next june WTF...but im gonna put 200 to the side for an emergency (first time i have ever saved anything..and a testiment to the pure hell the economy has become) my other 400 will probably go to gas at this point..or a nice in town vacation since i cant afford to drive anywhere

umm no.

the feds know you have to spend a little money now to make alot later. 600$ will have a domino effect, no matter how people spend it. you gotta look at the whole picture. They are doing it now so when the summer crunch comes the effects of the stimulus will help counteract the negative effects of 4$-6$ gas prices and break even.

I mean no we didnt have to ask for this they just gave it. But it speaks to how bad things have gotten that the government has started just giving out money to keep us quiet. It is a conspiracy. The Government makes money off of your perceived happiness. . . They don't make much off of me. Things are likey worse than the way we feel.

Thats great, I mad 21,000 last year (paid 4G's in taxes) and am in college. But because I'm 21 and my parents claim me as a dependent they get nothing (for me) and I get nothing. Rules are if you 18 or older and you parents claim you everyone is S.O.L. Whoever said we get taxed on this is wrong, this is pretty much "free" money the govermnt is giving us to "stimulate" the economy. This won't cause inflation by printing extra money becasue they are borrowing it from a bank, so the negative sie to this is interest rates should start to rise. Inflation could occur however if people spend too much of the money.

If your 21 and made 21,000 last year i think i would be bi*** slapping my parents for claiming me and eating up the very nice tax return you would have gotten. And since you are in college and economics book wouldnt hurt. This will stimulate the economy but is going to make the dollar drop even more becuase they are printing this money. the government is busy bailing banks out how do you think they are borrowing it from a bank? 180 billion loan?
