If your 21 and made 21,000 last year i think i would be bi*** slapping my parents for claiming me and eating up the very nice tax return you would have gotten. And since you are in college and economics book wouldnt hurt. This will stimulate the economy but is going to make the dollar drop even more becuase they are printing this money. the government is busy bailing banks out how do you think they are borrowing it from a bank? 180 billion loan? $10,000 of it was a bonus from joining the ANG so I really only made 11,000 from a job. I'm currently in an Economics class and have taken a few already. This is a topic we have covered plenty of times. The goverment isn't printing the extra money, they are borrowing it from a bank (can't remember which). See the problems people forsee woth the economic stimulus package is that either they didn't give out enough money to help give it that extra boost, or they gave out too much money that will make the currency hit a small inflation. You should be the economy book, you would already know this.

All for 2 words consumer confidence, but I think its too little too late its at a 26 year low which means even if it goes up a slight bit, investors are wary already so this is just our own play money. Have fun everyone because its still getting worse if you spend it or not.

On average americans making 40k in MAJOR cities can no longer afford food and rent. There have been several cases documented in recent news. Inflation on food and gas are up. Its amazing that shell has made a record profit this quarter and demand and usage is down. Anyone find something wrong with this. I am waiting for riots to happen .

I would say you are partially right on demand. But Americans statisically even in hard times use twice as much as the world in terms of food and statisically we waste more food than most major countries consume.

That plus the fact that GDP means a lot less with inflation. I base the economy more on consumer confidence than consumer spending, just due to the fact that grocery and gas inflation is so much higher up. Commodities are projected to burst because they are in a bubble thus causing this. I don't see this happening soon thus average americans will suffer.

Fair tax will NEVER EVER happen. EVER! Because honestly as an average American your voice means nothing. Absolutely nothing. I hate to tell Americans this but the US is run by Big Business, the rich, the elite. Unless you can either lynch those punks or they grow a conscience you are done.

Not to get too political thats how the theory of communism from Karl Marx originally came about.
