Taking out the sound deadening under the carpet

Before someone gets on me about saying how over talked about this topic is I would like to add my own personal twist to it.

My two options that I am deciding between is a heat gun or dry ice. However, this is where it gets good, being that I am in Arizona and the temperatures are about 115 this time of year, would using a heat gun leave too much of a mess and should I just stick with dry ice and a chisel?

Dry ice is your only friend.....along with a mallet.

with a heat gun and a spatula is so fkin easy... the residue wipe it with paint thinner...

either would work. Just make sure you do it right, and don't use dry ice on the body...messes up the paint

I just did this and I used neither. I just used a hammer and a 1" paint scraper and it cam off really easy. I was quite surprised at how easy it came off after reading a few thread on here, I was expecting it to be pain. One you get the tar off just spray some adhesive remover and it will clean up really nice.

Being that it's arizona and already hot as f*ck, I think i'm going to try just using a scraper and paint thinner for the residue. Thanks for the help!

There wasn't any when I ripped out my carpet. Thank you previous owner.

What little was left came up pretty easy because the outdoor temperature was like 95* Heat gun works wonders otherwise IMO
