Taking apart my 16G.

I'm going to be removing the compressor and turbine housings for the used Evo III 16G I just got to clean them out and check for any wear and I am wondering if as long as I am not messing with the center section do I have to worry about messing with the balance of the turbo? This is my first time doing this.

You would only need to mess with alignment if you got new wheels or lock nut. Even if you took the CHRA apart you still wouldn't need to get it aligned as long as you marked the alignment of the shaft with the compressor and the lock nut and installed it back the same way.

So to answer your question, no you wouldn't have to worry about it if you are only taking the housings off.
