curious to know some more information/how much these are worth.

They aren't made anymore.

"Worth" depends on how much a buyer wants to pay for them. If you have someone that has been looking for them for years, you might get a couple hundred for it.

What they are worth to me is $20 what they are worth to someone else could be $200

haha. I was asking because I had a pair in the garage, but it's been so long since i've been keeping up with things that I don't know what they're going for these days.

I'd say take a look at Ebay and see if there are any out there floating around to see what they are selling for and go from there.

Kinda confused.. I had an OEM set I wetsanded and used a product similar to night shades. Turned out almost identical. I also did a set that was El Cheapo altezzas off ebay. In the end they looked identical I put the cheapys on my GS when it sold. Are these JDM??

Those are the clear OEM ones... As in clear but oem from mitsubishi.. Rare.

I'm sure ther are alot of people on the forums who modify tailights..I'd like some more info on these "cheap altezas" you speak of, and pics would be nice please..

They were bought off ebay cost like $60 plus shipping the GS didnt have tails in it. I used Metal Cast /Smoke its used to paint chrome accessories etc. Its glossier than night shades doesnt require a clear coat and works ten times better IMO. They are on the GS which I sold to my sister. Next time Im around Ill snap some pics I dont think I have any on my laptop.

After I was finished I ordered the chrome eclipse emblem and put it back on. It looked pretty good on the white 2g IMO. As long as you do nice even light coats you can make them dark or light as you want.

Shake the can well so it doesnt turn hazy.

ive looked some up on ebay and ive seen them from 40 - 150 and i havent seen any on there lately...

i guess you just got to keep looking until you find a pair for a good price but i would say maybe an average like 50 - 80.. hope i helped

I've had the exact same tails in my GS since 2003.

I even bought a spare set a while back from a local guy because I knew how rare they are....I didn't want anything to happen in case one were to get damaged. The spare set I have are from an Eclipse that was only used for shows....they are in prime condition for used lights.

I even went as far as to buy two sets of the "ECLIPSE" lettering so the lights appear 100% stock. I've always used red bulbs and never been bothered by the police....the lights have a DOT rating on the lens, so they're obviously approved.

yeah, i have a talon and even i bought a set of them a year or 2 ago b/c of their rarity

I have hidden away a few sets of these too for a possible multi-colored, addressable RGB LED tail light project.

BTW, they do not meet DOT requirements due to the rear and side reflectors not being red. It is up to the discretion of local police whether they pull you over or not. Also, the DOT stamp is a self-certification process and anyone can make that claim on a light until they are asked to produce the documentation or pull them item from the market.

With the plethera of OEM clear tail lights on many vehicles these days it is much easier to get away with using these and not getting a fix-it ticket. Take a look at all clear tail light vehicles and you will always see four red reflectors on the rear of the vehicle, two to the rear and one on each side. They must always be red pimented cubed-corner reflectors too. You can't use reflective tape or retro-reflective films to meet the DOT code.

Like AzDave said, they're not legal because they don't have the proper red reflector sections in them.

On a white or silver car they do look quite good, possibly better than stock. on a dark colored car I think they look only slightly better than the crappy altezzas

the last set I saw on ebay went for about $100 IIRC

Not a problem that can't be fixed. Michaels sells transparent red paint. You can mask everything but the reflectors and go over with the red. Done! I've never had an issue with them. I had expensive red bulbs that didn't fade in the brake sections, and a silverstar amber bulb in the blinker area (euro setup), At night it looked killer with the red/amber mix, brakes worked fine, blinkers worked fine. Daytime when light reflected into and out of the tails, it had a haze of gold/purple/red. Never had an issue with all the times I was pulled over LOL.

Mitsubishi never sold these on a car from the factory, they aren't OEM.
Just OEM style.

So how did mitsubishi release them eh? They are OEM and they are from mitsubishi. I never once said Mitsubishi of America. My 1G EDM tails are OEM, just not from here.
