Will I be ok at 17psi on the Precision Turbo T3/T4 50trim. Gawd this turbo was a nightmare to put on. 1,100 for a crappy turbo. Not even put together correctly & man the service SUCKED! I ordered it on June22 & got it on July6th. I called & they said they FORGOT to build my turbo, WTF? Then it was sent to me put together wrong & didn't even bolt up. hahaha.. Well anyways, will I be ok on the fuel pump & at 17 psi for a bit until I get cast for an AFC & injectors? Any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks.
 
I ran 14.5 psi on a 56 trim with stock injectors once but I wouldn't beat on it much. ( One of my 650s took a dump and I was waiting on the new 780s still ) Why would you buy a turbo first and THEN supporting mods???
 
My turbo took a dump on me so I opt for the 50trim. I was just wondering if it was ok to run it without the supporting mods for about a month. Need cash first, but I also drive my car everyday to work & back. :thumb: So on 17 PSI & a 255 pump I'm NOT safe? I don't drive like I stole the car but I do like to floor it sometimes. :D
 
Absolutely not.

You need to pick up some Denso 720s and a blue screen AFC. I'd put in a 190lph fuel pump if you are nearing the end of your power goals, the 255 is real whiny. If you are sticking at 400whp or around then that pump will suffice.

1100 is WAAAAY more than what you should be paying for a 50trim. Who did you buy from? And no on the 17psi without injectors and fuel control.
 
Lets see I ran that same turbo on 550's for like a month till I got 650's and a front mount at the same time. Its not recommended but if you stay outta the boost and granny it around for a month which you won't and will wreck your engine you would be ok. But you won't granny it will wanna get into it feel that power etc and screw it up. You should have injectors and a pump and afc minimum to run that and then a logger and a front mount to get it all right. I had mine on the SMIC for a month and then switched one pull in 3rd and heat soaked IC.

Its not recommended we know your going to do it anyways so why ask?

The best advice I can give you is to un-hook the actuator arm and drive it like a N/A until at least you get a logger in there to find a safe boost level. It's good that you're thinking ahead but like everyone else said, turbo should be the last mod, not the first. Good luck.

Mines not! I just installed a new 255 high pressure pump in my 1g FWD and I barely notice it all all, and I have no back seats. My old reg 255 in my 1g AWD was very whiney though. Maybe Walbro changed the design, but mines not nearly as loud as I thought it was going to be.
 
Oil shoots out of my BOV. WTF? Help? No white exhaust fumes emitting from the muffler. could it be my center section is not on right, leaking or bad gaskets? DAMN! Oh & I got it from Dejon Tool with the pipe kit. What a nightmare this has turned out to be. Anyone in MN willing to help. sheesh :(
 
You should really research before buying stuff. With an extra 200, you could have gotten an fp green which is the best 50 trim in my opinion. I say if you have another car to drive in the meantime, send it back and buy a good/reputable turbo.
As far as your problem goes, did u assemble the turbo yourself or what? I donT see why the centersection would not be bolted right. Make sure your oil return isnt kinked which causes the oil to get backed up in the turbo and you blow seals and you get oil in the intercooler piping. Too much oil pressure can also do this. Where are you feeding the turbo from...head or oil filter housing?

White smoke = burning coolant. :thumb:
 
i ran a pte 50.. with stock injectors but walboro 190 and B&M fp mod and afc2.. i drove it but did not beat on it.. basically not going past 10 psi.. richened up on the afc just to make sure.. it would fuel cut if i went past 10 psi

Fuel cut has very little to do with the injector size but more to do with air count, I suspect you're probably getting fuel starvation instead. If you're truly hitting fuel cut at 10psi+, I would suggest looking into boost leaks.
 
Any clue on my oil leaking through the BOV? Man. It was shooting oil onto my intake pipe.

If oil is shooting out of the BOV and oil is all over the licp and ic, most likely it's coming out of the turbo seal. What can cause a fairly new turbo to leak oil you ask?

1. Oil pressure too high. Are you feeding from the filter or head location? Balance shaft removed?

2. Poor oil return capacity. This can be caused by several things: 1. Clogged or kinked return line. 2. Excessive crankcase pressure.

I'll recheck my turbo lines tonight... I hope it doesn't burn out my turbo. Check return line. I'm also feeding the oil from the oil filter or that big plug BY the filter if that makes any different.
 
Inside the turbo the oil dissipates into many different directions. Most of the time when the oil is pushing past the seals the problem can be fixed with the oil return line or allowing the crankcase to breath easier.
