Got a question. I'm not a complete noob but something I don't quite understand. When someone refers to a turbo as a t3/t4, what are they talking about. I know theres a t3 flange and a t4 flange but,why people say it's a "t3/t4"
I don't understand.

T3 Turbine/T4 Compressor

Supposed to spool quick with good airflow.

Generally-speaking, it's when a T3-spec turbine wheel and housing are used on a T04E turbo to make a hybrid that will spool quicker and work better on a lower-boost gasoline application than the T04E's in their unmolested form which were used strictly on mid-sized diesels.

All of the available turbines used in popular T3 hybrids (the T327, the T31, and the T352) all derive as a stock or upgraded turbine wheel for a T3 Garrett-based turbocharger.

It can get pretty confusing....turbos like a PTE 6176S are still considered a T3/T4 hybrid even though they use a GT35R compressor wheel and a T4-spec P-Trim turbine wheel.
