Hello everyone. As the title states I am switching to the 90 style oil cooler. I already have a new oem 90 oil housing and a kit with the oil cooler and lines. However I need to order a new lower thermostat housing and water pipe that does not have the water provisions. Looking into CAPS there's three different options for pipes. One is 10/90- 5/94. This would be ruled out since I have a '91. But for the '90 there's two different dates and part numbers. One for 3/89- 6/90 and one for 6/90- 9/90. Which one do I need to order?

Now with the thermostat housing, there is 3/89- 6/90. With this one there's actually two different part numbers.

I am confused. If someone can direct me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Tried to order the water pripe on friday and they no longer make them, they have been discontinued and no mitsubishi dealership have any left over parts. Went to the junk yard yesterday and pulled one out of a 90 laser. After getting home and cleaning it out, there are some rust in the water pipe. Should I run it, or get another one?

The first picture shows some of the rust I am talking about. The second one I think is just corrosion that can be rid of with cleaning. Judging by the pictures should it be used or not? Thanks.

Well imo, if your good at getting in there to remove the rust and corrosion you could reseal the metal. Not sure how to do it at home though. I work with aircraft and after we make sure that the metal thickness is within spec we have a process of chemical conversion for the different types of metal to reseal them against corrosion and rust. But if you can't find the parts used and in good condition, your best hope would be to find a way to remove and reseal the metal.
