Hey guys, I bought the 90 style oil housing and an oil cooler kit from street tuned motorsports. I am planning to switch my water cooled oil housing to the air cooled housing. Can you guys tell me everything I am going to need and do in order to do the swap. I already have the gasket/housing/cooler/lines/an fittings. Is there anything else I am missing? Also since there is a water pipe connected to my old housing, what do I do to that now? If someone could walk me through everything I need to do in order to do this, that would be great. Could not find anything in old threads or tech area. Anything I need to add that I did not have before and anything I need to take out or block off now that I am switching. Thanks in advance.

Once again, don't take it personal. Sounds like your all taken care of. This is DSMTUNERS and we link you to pages, tell you our personal experiences. We can't do anymore then that. I don't see where any rules are being broken. Again, sounds like your all taken care of disregard any post you found to be not up to par.

I have a 93 tsi awd and a 90 laser rs fwd
### i want to do is switch the oil coolers
how???
im also thinkin of switching the motors too

Parts you will need to swap from the 90 to the 93 in order to add the oil cooler:

Thermostat housing
Coolant pipe
Oil filter housing
Add the oil cooler and oil lines

You can block off the coolant lines on the thermo housing and the coolant pipe, but you would be better off just swapping the parts out for reliability.

some specs on the cx racing oil cooler. Anyone have any input?

over size: 13x4x2 inches
core size: 11x4x2
inlet outlet: AN8 (???)
Inlet outlet center distance: 10 inches
Rows: 13
Material is 100% aluminum
Oil line length is 48 inches each
fitting angle: 90-90, 90-90, AN8

Cars done!!! Still running waaay too hot cant even touch the hood prop and the overflow bottle is fulllllll. not overheating on the gauge though its actually a little cooler and the oil psi is up way hi but its not at the highest mark yet. Here is pics.

The old hoses got destroyed when the oil went in the coolant. So i got gates racing hoses off of Extremepsi.com(?)

Here we go all done, direct bolt on with very little fab. (mounting the oil cooler)
