Swapped tranny wont downshift into second

I recently swapped a 92 tranny into my 90 GSX. I switched the t-case, shifter, and shifter cables. All gears work great but for some reason i cant downshift from third to second?? The shifter cables arent hitting at all, and the 91-94 shifter cable bracket doesnt work right on my car so its not that. Anyone have any ideas?

If you used the shifter cable tower that was on your 90 trans thats why. You have to use the one that came on the 92 trans.If you have them both you'll see the 90 has about 1 1/2" stagger opposed to about 3/4" stagger on the 92.It'll drive you crazy trying to adjust the shifter it if you have the wrong tower.

when i put the 92 bracket on that it wont go into gear, so i cant use that bracket

There are two pieces for the towers on both.You have to use both pieces from the 92.You can't mix and match.
