I'd like to upgrade my suspension soon on my '96 TSi AWD. I was thinkin about doing KYB GR-2's with a moderate (pro-kit, tein s tech, etc.) spring drop. I wanted to go with the Tein S. Tech's. Well, first off, my main question is will the springs fit my car even if I don't see awd listed where it says what it fits? It's not just on one specific site or anything, it's pretty much every site I've seen them on. And the reason I ask is because I haven't found any that specify AWD. My other question is will this be an okay combination? If I can avoid it, I would rather not spend much more than the GR-2's. If anyone has a better suggestion on struts, please let me know. Also, I know I won't need a camber kit for that small of a drop, but is there anything else I should have replaced while I do all this stuff?

READ THIS its a topic on DSMtalk about things you should check out while you have your suspension off. Fairly soon i will have my gr2's and springs off my car if you want them ;) im gettin D2's, somewhat new to the US but havent heard a bad review about them yet. im not a hardcore suspension guy but ive read that FWD suspension will fit in a AWD (or vice versa) but its not a good idea. so you might wanna just call around to the vendors and see what they say. also, ive heard the best way to go if you dont want an "all-in-one" like FLEX or D2's is koni yellows and ground control coilover.

what about the ones that say they will fit a gst or gsx? btw, I was also wondering if it would be better to go with the Tokico's that are $300 on machv?

ive been looking into suspension a lot lately, and i think im going with the tein ss coilovers and a poly uratane bushings kit, but thats still after i get my exaust and fuel upgraded...(and new tires of corse...) i am a strong believer in go all out, that way if you want to later you didnt waste your money on some cheap pos part... it takes longer for you to get to all the parts on your car, but in the end youll have a better car...

i hope you have either a rahter LARGE amount of time, or alot of money to install that bushign kit.

Took me 22 hours total to install the full energy suspension bushing kit includin hte tranny bushings and engine mounts on my 93 del sol. You have to have a torch, and a really big vice too

and on a side note, i have the D2s on my honda, and i love them, great build quality and its really onli like 8 adjustbale points that are noticable

my exact setup is the 4way adjustable kyb's(compliments of ebay) with tien lowering springs(from a friend).. its an excellent setup IMO and rides a lot smoother then all my other friends with lowered cars.. but i have it on the softest setting.. i tried to put it on the hardest but i dont want to get whiplash so i put it back :thumb:

i have my moms minivan, because my sister went to college and my mom likes my sisters car better,... so yes i do have a LOT of time...
