I've got a Supra pump and a stock pump in front of me right now. I've read several install VFAQ pages and one thing bugs the hell out of me. This whole pump is submersed in gas or fumes less than an inch from the float, with nothing to seal the terminals. Wont that short out the amps needed, not to mention live wires in the fuel tank. I remember the airliner that blew up because of a short in the wires that ran though the fuel tank. I know its only 12 volts but I expected to see some kind of seal around the terminals like RTV or something fuel proof. WTF?
Even the stock pump doesnt have o rings or anything to seal the blade terminals.
