today i was atempting to install the evo fuel pump that i have and i was able to do everything but the twist the line on the bottom. I could not budge it at all is there something that i could spray on there to make it easier. Or will i just have to get under there and put a lot of force on there. I don't want to break it though.

Also the number that is on my fuel pump does not match with some of the numbers that i have seen here online so i was wondering if anyone could make sure that this is an evo 9 pump before i go and attach this thing again tomorrow. 04008G3570 this is the number on the top of my fuel pump. it is also a silverish color.

I cant help you with the fuel pump #'s but to try to break nuts and stuff loose use something like pb blaster or liquid wrech... rust buster.. all of those things will help you if you use them correctly. hope that helps you a little bit and i'm not sure but there may be a write up on fuel pumps... not sure if you searched or not... i havent, yet :p Goodluck!

Yeah I am looking at the write ups now but like i said i was able to do everything but that bottom line. I'll swing by the store tomorrow and pick some of that up and see what i can accomplish. Can anyone verify the pump number.

The fuel pump number that you have is the batch number, year, and serial all together. That number is not the part number. The part number may not be on the pump but if it is it is on the silver portion. soak everything with pb blaster and let it sit. Actually do it a few days ahead of time. goodluck

Be very careful to not bend it too much. They snap easy and the whole fuel pump assembly is over $300 from the Mitsu dealer and cant be bought at any parts stores. Good luck man

Ok well I wad never able to do get the pump on but the shop was able to do so... But they started the car up and said there was no action from the fuel pump. They also did a rewire on the pump with the install. I wouldn't think that the rewire would have caused the pump to fail but who knows. I have had this evo9 fuel pump for several years and it is just now on the car.
