i looked on vfaq, but it isn't really clear....... how do you modify the terminals so the damn thing works....... do you use the old ring terminals or what

OK i just did this job today installing a 190 pump, theres two wires toc onnect ground and power...
The blue wire coming down from the top to the stock pump is power, and the one that bolts to the unit is ground.
Ideally you pop off the terminal on the stock ground and reuse that location, and for the power, I just heatshrinked the two wires together.
I was gonna start a thread on this but I will ask her, is it ok to have a soldered wire inside the gas tank, a piece of my ground wire is soldered together.
thanks

couldn't you just take off both the stock power and ground and replace them with the new ones............

you could.....but the idea is to make the stock "power" wire CLOSE the relay contacts and the 10 or 12 gauge wire would be the MAIN supply, so that when you cut the KEY off, you also turn off the HEAVY GAUGE "supplY" wire.

Just do it like it has been done, like everyone else. And SOLDER the connections, so your car doesn't burn down tommorow.

And NO, you use female electrical connectors (like speaker connectors)

A few Electrical "butt connectors"

A 30A automotive fuse

17 feet of 12 or 10 gauge wire, plus 24" for the new ground.

Then you follow the VFAQ to the letter.
