i remember hearing that 15 is the largest safe amount of boost on the stock engine..... when i get my boost controller, should i have any support mods after i bump it up to 15psi ??

It's not about being safe on a 2g, 15.5ish psi is the best your poor ole t-2-slow can do before it will start to blow out hot air.

People will argue, and I'm not disagreeing that the t25 blows hot air over ~15lbs., but you can still make power by running more boost. Every car is different though so you may not.

You don't really NEED anything to turn a t-25 up to 15. It would be better if you have exhaust, and better blow off.

As posted before, it varies from car to car. Because of this, the only way to find out is to log a few runs and keep the boost where your timing is the happiest. If your ECU is pulling timing, any increase in PSI will not help your performance at all. My car came with 14-15ish psi stock...I don't even have an MBC installed because with the t-25 I had, anything past 15 psi started to pull timing. Some people have noticed increases in power by LOWERING the boost on t-25...but every car is different.

Definately -- a compression test, boost gauge, dp, high-flow cat, k+n w/ airbox removed, and perform basic tune-up stuff.

This is an often asked question and should be sticky IMHO. There are some basics that SHOULD be done before turning up the boost like: installing a real boost gauge, a compression check (if #'s are not the healthiest you may decide to leave boost alone), replacing a clogged air filter, bigger dp, replacing old semi-clogged cat w/ high-flow, egt gauge is always good, check plugs + wires, fuel filter.

These are a few things that come to mind now but none of them were done by me except the mbc and I wound up with a blown motor  Seemed like a good idea at the time though :D:
