so i want to run 20psi on my 16g...what are some of the support mods needed to do so?
car has a mbc, 550cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, ported O2 housing 3 inch down pipe,3 inch cat back other little bolt ons as well....what else do i need?

Any engine management?

If not an SAFC would do fine for 550's but if you intend to go any bigger / more go fast parts you would be wise to get DSMLink. Not only to control the 550's but you can get quicker and more efficient spool ect.
(Maybe even a wideband to go along with the DSMLink because the tuning is so much better then)

If you intend on tracking the car ACT 2100 (or similar) clutch and flywheel so you dont slip.

Replaced the plugs and wires with the good stuff? Magnacore wires and NGK plugs?

I think your good to go though other then that. I ran 20psi on my 2g gst with about the same.
(I had a full FPR kit also though)

Your going to need a safc at the very least, can't imagine trying to tune without a wbo2 and your going to be pushing those 550cc injectors pretty hard at 20 psi on a 16G, probably pushing over 100% idc. My 450's hit 104% idc @ 6300rpm and only 12 psi of boost on my 16G. I now run 750's & only hit 62-65% idc at 17psi & 7200rpm.
Just remember 20 psi on pump gas is pushing it.

Not at all. I was at about 80-85% at most on duty cycle. I could of probably done 22 psi at 100%

EDIT: i was running hks 272s though unlike his setup with no cams.

Interesting that you were running 272's (as am I) and still only hitting 85% idc. I know it can be done and some people have success but in my first hand experience and many others 550's are pretty well maxed out @ 20psi. I would rather be on the safe side and have room to grow especially if your running ecmlink where you can put on bigger injectors and control them without issues.

I was one of the lucky ones i guess, but that doesnt show in other issues ive had with the gst.

Ya no doubt with the safe though. When it comes to injectors if you play on going past a 16g and will have ECMLink you might as well go 1000 or 1600cc and just get it pro tuned.

You should have checked for a boost leak, that high of idc on ONLY 12 psi (which is nearly stock boost) is way high.
