ok this is my problem. i installed my uicp with a 1g bov this morning, took it for a test drive too see if my boost changed cuz of the bov and YES it did OMG i was boosting fine at 14 psi with my stock bov and now im boosting 20?! what could be the deal here? my knob is practically out of my joe p mbc and still didnt change? any ideas to why its spiking that high? i notice that the 1g bov was harder to push open then my stock bov. probably 2 times harder. took me some muscle just to make it budget. could that be the case?

thanks.. :dsm:

ive searched and searched and yes i installed my mbc right. teed off to the bov and conected straight to the acuator. closed all the openings.

cut the spring? dude did you even try to take the mbc out and see what happens? that would eliminate the possibility of it being the mbc if it still did it..or pinpoint the problem

well, i would guess that since you arent leaking out of your bov now, its boost creep due to your 3" exhaust...you know that your mbc is fine now...time to port :thumb:

it was working fine till i installed my bov and uicp today. what could have gone wrong?.. how do you know if the bov is toast?

Disconnect your MBC and run a line from the pressure source on the compressor housing to the wastegate and it should open around 10 pounds. If not then there is a problem with your gate, although it may open at 12 or so becuase of creep and your mods. Lt us know what happens.

OK i disconnected my mbc and replaced it with a single hose going to the WG. I gave it a test run and its hitting 17 psi. Something is wrong huh? or maybe i hooked it up wrong. ok this is how i hooked it up. i took off my mbc from the T and in replace for the mbc, i hooked up a hose that leads to the WG. did i do it right? :dsm: ahh.. this stuff is killing me

XxSiRhCy6PxX I tried IMing you, but what pressure source is it hooked up to. Just run a line strait from the fitting off the compressor housing on the turbo to the wastegate. A friend of mine had a similiar problem, but we solved it by doing the above until he got an electronic boost controller. With my friend we had pulled the boost restrictor soleniod so that is why it was spiking that high, so his story is a little different. So just run a strait line from the compressor housing to the wastegate and see what happens. Let us know what goes on.
