I was wondering what some of you have done to rid yourself of the water lines? I have a journal bearing t3 turbo going in and do not need the water lines at the moment.
thanks for the help

I am not sure but I think the 1g's might have a different line setup. One of my lines comes out just like that, but the other comes from the bottom of the water pipe that is close to the block. I was thinking of putting a plug on one and then maybe getting a bolt to block the on at the bottom of the water pipes. Thanks for the help, but I need input from the 1g guys, almost everybody here has an upgraded turbo.... somebody must at least have the bolt size or something. LOL.
thanks for the help

It is not the same for 1g's. The one at the bottom of the water pipe is a hollow aluminum tube that goes to the water passage closest to the radiator and then a banjo bolt goes through it into the turbo, thus connecting the 2. 2g people have 2 nipples coming off the thermostat housing, one for the water feed one for the water drain and you can connect the 2 because well they are just nipples. 1g's have the feed as a nipples and an aluminum tube with a circle at the end for the banjo bolt to go through. Here is a drawing to describe it.

Bringing this up from the grave. I blocked off my water lines and used a generic auto drain bolt that I read on here from Lowes with a lock washer. Problem is it's leaking coolant.

If I get this bolt from extreme, do I need copper washers or any type of washers for leaks or could I use some RTV on my existing bolt/ lock washer combo?

Thanks

I just bought the 1G bolt from ExtremePSI and it does not look like the picture. The head tapers out (not 90* as pictured or like how most bolts are) so a crush washer would not work. You'd have to use thread sealant. Can't comment on the effectivity or if it leaks since it's not installed yet.

For your situation, I'd use a copper crush washer and/or sealant.

I threaded -6 fittings one mine and looped them with a single -6 hose whrn i was runing an oil cooled turbo, made it nice for putting a water cooled oneback on easily too

It's aluminized steel. You can weld a bolt into the loop's feed and block it off.

So for a bolt like the one used in this pic

Which is the same one I am using. Use a crush washer ( looks like a 14mm or a 16mm washer) and some sealant and should be good to go?

Thanks
