UMm no gauges foglights are STOCK and i fo have under glow neon but they are always off since its illegal.i have no idea how old my battery since i bought the car not too long ago but i did a multimeter test and it holds charge real good so idk any other suggestions?

LOL not anymore have your tried running it without the cap yet?? after that try swapping out the amp to test if its got something going wrong inside the amp itself. those are really the last 2 options i can think of

try running the second ground directly to your amp instead of the cap, are you makng sure to let your amp warm up before turning it all the way up? my amp sat for awhile and just needed to be broke back in

How old is the capacitor? They go bad quickly as they are not made to a very high quality standard.

capacitor is new bought it last year along with the system. Its like the thing is i had it set up the same exact way it is now in my last car and never ever i had a problem so idk whats going on its pissing me off LOL

The Cap is supposed to prevent this, but do your headlights dim with your system on and other accessories?

You may be having a much greater draw than what your alternator can handle and may need to go to a larger voltage one.

NO they dont dim at all but im sure i need more power tho. if i replace the wires from alternator to battery the so called BIG 3 upgrade to a 0 gauge wire will that give me more power?

did your car come with the Infinity Sound System from the factory?
did you remove the stock amp from under the passenger seat and re-wire all your speakers directly to the new head unit?

Yea i did that i wired the speakers to a DVD player and its no longer using the amp what does that have something do do with power? let me know bud

I believe the story goes something like there is no ground for the radio harness so you need to make your own...

Ill wait for someone else to chime in on this tho.

your current alternator should be fine

Yes my ground for the radio is tied to a screw inside the dash not a EXCELLENT place but its ok.the thing is that the subs not getting enough juice what to do for more juice from battery?

ok, im currently going to school just for mobile audio, and i hate to bash, but caps dont do shit. theyr only really needed if your running 3 or more amps off of 1 power wire. having a cap for one amp isnt doing ne thing except adding more resistance to your system. im telling you from personal experience, iv hooked up 2 15's and 2 12's on two seperate amps in my 93, and iv never had any problems. so dump the cap, sell it for some money, and do what ne1 in their right mind would do... BUY MORE SUBS!!

oh, and rockford just charges out the ass cause of the name. id recommend lanzar's MAX series, iv made the owners of some local "pro" shops turn their $1000 systems off, and my complete system cost about $350. just a heads up

well thats funny because i took it off today and my lights dim after i took out.I put the cap back on they stopped? so u say they dont help? well thats weird LOL and rockfords are loud enough i dont need more than what i have right now thanks..

i would have to disagree with you on this, i never "went to school" for car audio but have built several low cost hard hitting systems and known people that have spent double and gotten less bang for their buck,

from my experince if you were using a cap that was too small it may add more resistance, but one of the proper size can only help. when i have added caps to my systems the results were harded hitting and cleaner sounds, so unless you can provide proof for your statements most will disregard everything you said

I've been professionally installing for about a year and a half now and I too went to school to get my MECP certification, however I disagree with the statement of caps being worthless in a system. They can reduce headlight dimming, and provide cleaner power to the amp.
That being said, upgrading the cables from your alternator to battery will provide your battery with a cleaner path (assuming you properly crimp/solder your connections) for the current to travel. However, if your alternator is only producing 13.5v then you're probably not going to notice a change with your current problem. I would buy a NEW alternator, or pull your alternator and have it professionally refurbished.
Sounds like you've checked about everything else, assuming you've checked everything that has previously been suggested.
If an alternator that outputs 14.4v as it should doesn't fix your problem, then you might want to try a high output alternator, which case you'll NEED to upgrade your wiring for your charging system. Before you do all that upgrading though, I would take the car with system installed to your local car audio shop (not box store, they usually aren't legally allowed to help) and have them check it out. It'll probably cost you below $50 bucks to have your system checked by a professional. Adds that little peace of mind thing that everyone likes to have once in a while...

Ok, ive done a lot with sound systems in my cars, and if i remember correctly you have a pretty big amp, I had some similar power problems with my set up, the way i solved it is to install a second battery in the back of the car, it is 10 times better then any capacitor and it increased my db readings by 5 points, IT SOLVED ALL MY POWER PROBLEMS!!! :hellyeah:

Capasiters are well worth it. Good thing your in school ;)
Another battery is just a bigger capasiter. What he has should be enough for the 1 amp.
See how much power your alt is making.
If you know how to instal it and the wireing is not a issue. The only things that are different in your setup are the alt and battery.
If your alt is making good power check your battery, if thats good check the alt to battery wire and make sure all the connections are mint. Or just upgrade the wire all together.
Get your issues figured out and buy a 4 channel for your mids and tweets. Deck power is so 1990. ;)
