i had infinity references for like a week before they blew they were two 10's powered by a directed 650d mono amp rated at 750

I plan on putting in 2 JL 13.5's and a Crossfire VR2000D. Running 2000 watts on two jl's should mean trophies in the case!!!

I used to have 2 JL12W6's back in the day, then I went to 1 Cerwin Vega vega series 12" and both setups were pretty badass. I was running a 1000watt pheonix gold amp with both setups and I loved them both. Vegas rock in my book:thumb:

i have been into car stereos for 5 years. MA AUDIO is one of the best brands of subwoofers i have owned. some dealers give a good price(mainstreetcaraudio.com) i have 2 15inch synergy series (3000 watts max) subwoofers and the MA5082HX amp (4000 watts rms at 1 ohm) it is loud. i am in the process of getting it reinstalled for better looks. i will have pics posted soon!!!!

I personally think that alpine is the only way to go as far as subs, I got 2 12" type-x subs and 2 audiobahn a8002t amps...1600 watts apiece...hits so friggin hard with the bass all the way DOWN

I'm going relatively small in sub size, I want to have three 8" subs. Now I originally planned on the new kicker S8L7's and I was gonna create my own ported custom box in the shape of the mitsubishi symbol. I need help on amps. I wanted to run an amp to each speaker that way i get the most out of them. What kind of amp and how much should i run to the subs? Now would you guys recommend something else and how will my setup sound? I'll post a pic of my setup asap

i never liked audiobahn. i heard them a few years ago and was unimpressed

then my neighbor got 2 of the bottom line 12's with a 600w kenwood amp, and those suckers hit hard enough to give me a stomach ache while trying to tune the amp. i was sold.

this is by far the best setup ive had in a car. 2 12" audiobahn entry level subs, with the 1300HCT amp. kicker 6.2 components. so nice, i had a guy at the premier audio shop in our city asking ME how I laid fiberglass that thin and that strong.

and man, that above design is really badass. my cousin wants something like that in the rear hatch, with plexiglass mitsu symbol, but a solobaric on each side of the star, and a long ass amp in the bottom. i doubt it would fit like he thinks.

what is the best position for subs in a 1st gen eclipse, most people say that you get bounce off the hatch which supposed to make it louder but that rattles the hell out of my car. is this true?

i went from a 12" Kenwood Tornado which was decent for its size and being 1 sub, to 2 12" top of the line at the time Cerwin Vega's which SUCKED, i was using a 1k watt rockford amp to power them, then i used that same amp to power 2 Rockford 12" HE2's which sounded decnet but they kept blowing, Now i am running a 1600 watt Kenwood amp to 1 15" Rockford Power HX2 and it kills anything else ive heard. for a 15" sub its very resonsive and it gives off alot of sound. I doubt Ill ever go back to 12"s now that ive had this 15" , its just as resonsive as the 2 12" HX2's but it is a good 2-3x louder and gives off a much better tone. Just my experience and thoughts

I went from 2 rockford punch 2 subs 2 a single kicker with a great ported box and let me tell u the kicker dominated. I also have owned 2 sony xplods and 2 titans. Never really only wanted a single sub but got one to be lighter and it actualyl was the loudest. Go kicker.

JL Audio hands down :thumb: I have two 12" JL W6v2 subs with a 1200 watt amp pushing them. Loud and clear

Dollar for Dollar a memphis HPO will give you the most thump for the money. There is a reason why they keep winning DB Drags.

So what you have learned after reading this post is 90% of the people here love what they own and consider what they own a run for the best :D

I bought an Infinity Basslink off eBay for like $220 for my 2g eclipse. It is a really small box with a built in 200w amp. There is an active & passive 10in sub in the box.

I was incredibly surprised after the install, that little thing puts out great sound and it's pretty loud. If you want a huge bumpin' system then this probably wont be something you want, but if you want something that doesn't take up that much space and people can still here you coming, then this is what I would suggest.

Sounds great in the hatch!!

i have a jl audio w6v2. this one 12" sub hits at least 130-140 db. and thats only running off of a small mtx 200 watt amp. it could take 3 times that.

i have a basslink also..

it does sound pretty good in our cars.. it "completes" the sound.. im not tapping this to my rear speakers though.. i have a deck runnign the sub rcas.. also the previous owner upgraded the stock speakers.. dont know what they are exactly but they are blue in color.. and sound good with highs and mids.. didnt really put out great lows before i had the basslink..

but now with the basslink.. as i mentioned it "completes" the sound.. enough bass for people in the car.. its not something that will really be heard out of the car.. so if u want the bass causing attention.. its not for you.. but if you want tight quality bass that will compliment the rest of ur speakers nicely.. not to mention it is very small and lightweight.. itsa good pick up.. you can get em for under 200 shipped

...

now my question.. in the future i might want to upgrade.. i just want a single sub in a box with the amp attached to the box.. i watn it to be easy to remove and fairly small.. what would you guys recommend.. i already have 8 gauge wiring for the power/ground.. and have my remote lead switch and the rcas .. so i would just need a sub/box/amp correct?

i really like quality tight bass.. but if i can get the best of both worlds and have a fairly loud setup with quality thats wht im lookin for.. perhaps a single 12".. recommendations are welcomed please :)

^^^i just went to my local car audio store and they had some Rockford 10's on display with their own ported boxes, and DAYUM. they were very deep and tight for the low end, but also hit hard enough to make you think it was 2 12's. i would definately check them out. plus they were around 140 for the 10, the box and some other shit i dont remember(freebies).

youre just like me, even though i have a huge ass system, i barely use it. i just like tight low bass to add to the music, not drown it out and try to shatter glass on the car next to me. but its nice to know if some ghetto bling bling 24" dubs escalade pulls up thinking hes "droppin it like its hawt", i can make him look like hes running straight tweets.

yea exactly.. the thing i want to keep is my trunk space.. and the convience of being able to remove it easily.. thats why i would have to have the amp on the box..

to give you an example of the size of the basslink.. u know the cargo net in our cars in the trunk.. well you can fit it in between where it lines up and the rear seats..

i guess i would have to shop around in stores and see what i like based on my needs and budget.. dont treally want to spend more than $300 for everything.. (amp/sub/box)
