Subwoofer FAIL!

RESOLVED! I hope this is in the right forum, but anyway

I hooked up two 12inch power acoustiks to a 1000watt power acoustik amp,
turned them on, and only 1 sub is working.


I wired them to 2 ohms i belive. I followed the crutchfield picture. Im pretty sure i wired them wrong so i wanted to hear your inputs.

Also my amp light was green for a minute or two then it turned red?

what is the issue here?

First I would check the ground to make sure you have a solid ground spot. Preferably a spot with no paint.

Do you have the subwoofers bridged? How many channel amp is it? Pictures would help.

I have it hooked up to a mono amp if that helps. heres the link of how i wired them :

Hmmm, I've always just bridged my speakers. Never really tried anything else.

I always just bridged the two speakers to the one channel directly, i never tried to daisy-chain the speakers together how the picture shows.

are your subs dual voicecoil as in the picture?

specs on the amp and subs please. If you cant get the specs, at least give me a model number. Also, check the fuses on the amp. One blown fuse will cause this.

I fixed it. One subwoofer is not working, its not getting power, oh well one 12 is plenty loud! I wired it up to my mono amp.

If anyone is still wondering its a DVC(4 ohm) each coil and I wired it to a mono amp.

specs on the amp too...if its not 2 ohm stable its not going to work

Did you try bridging them or confirm the one is broke? To bridge you just run all the positive together and all the negatives together to the amp. Since they are DVC you will have lots of wire. Maybe speakers have changed since my days, but if I recall all mine have two positive and two negative on each speakers.
