hi, i have a 10 inch boss sub and boss 2 channel amp. i am bridging the amp and the sub is dual voice coil and i have it wire in series(8 ohm). My problem is that the amp comes on and lighhts up but i am getting no power to the sub. I used a voltmeter on the speaker wires coming out of the amp to go to the sub and they do not show any readings. i know everything is hooked up right and i have a good ground with 4 gauge wire. i was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction for fixing this problem.
any help is appreciated.
Thanks
ed

do you have the blue.with white striped wire from the head unit hooked up to the amp. you might have power going to the amp but the head unit turns the amp on. id start there

i do have that wire on the back of the radio(kenwood radio) but it is not used. i have a remote wire from the amp to a fuse. should i use the wire coming from the radio or will it make a diffrerence?

ya, you should use that wire cause how is the amp going to know the radio is playing music and amplify the music? correct me if im wrong tho, please!

for your remote wire just put a jumper from the + terminal and see what happens??? is the gain turned up on the amp?

yes gain is turned up. i fooled with all the amp nobs first. il try hooking up that blue and white stripped wire and see what happens. thanks

ok so i hooked up that blue and stripped wire and still nothing. the amp light says it is in protect mode ands sometimes it will go into power mode when the volume is turned down. any suggestions?

bad amp?? too small of a power wire??? have you seen the amp work before?? unhook the speakers and see what happens see if the amp stays on speakers could also be bad

im 99 percent sure that my amp is good. i bought it new last year and it sat for about 6 months probably in a constant 70 degree enviroment. my sub is brand new, just bought it today. and i have plenty of wire. i bassically took the same set up out of my car last year and put it into a new car this year except with a new sub. everything looks like it is new.

ya. to the blue stipped wire like the first post said. sub still didnt do anything
it is the P. const

no i dont think so. ive pushed every button on there that could be pushed. it doesnt have a seperate subwoofer level. it just has the bass trebile and mid level with fade and balance.

sometimes you can turn the outputs on and off though

I haven't owned a kenwood in a grip I can't remeber if there are set up that way or not.

o. like there are bass levels are it but i dont think that effects it at all.

Have you tried wiring the sub for a 4 ohm load and see if that works?

no. it is a 4 ohm dual voice coil. dumb question, how do i wire it for four ohms

I meant 2 ohms. But you gotta check the amp and see what ohms it's stable to.

i htink it is a 4 ohm amp. but i was reading around and i read that 2 ohms is the hardest on amps becasue the will heat up and make an am[ fail prematuelry

it is a D400.2 2 channel mosfet power amplifier
it says diablo series if that helps

ok. well how do i bridge my amp (wiring wise)?
like how do i wire the sub to it

I would suggest getting an amp that is stable down to 2 ohms or a SVC sub.
