like I said, you get what you pay for.
Did you guys know that the awesome flea market company Crunch bought out hifonics? Most of the new hifonics stuff is just rebadged crunch. The brutus series amps will put out the power they say, but they are far from reliable. I had two 1500d's fail on me within a month of owning them. They are built cheap, and it reflects in the price.
And it doesn't always take 2thouasnd dollars to have a good stereo. The MSRP on the gear I have in my talon is over 3k$, but i only paid about 600$ for Everything (from the deck to the components to the xover, 30 band EQ, 6 chan speaker amp, sub amp, sub, etc), and I got it all new too!! You just gotta be patient and know where to look.
