I have two pioneer 12" premiers, and they somtimes just start moving without making any noise. Its hard to explain what they are doing. I will have the volume and just 1 or 2 then they sometimes start moving (not to the beat of the song) in and out without making a sound. Also, i noticed that they move kind of slow when they hit, but yet its hard to explain. It might be that my amp is searching for a ground. Im not sure though. I also thought that since on my amp, i dont have a "proper" clip connection for the remote turn on, so i just kind of put the wire through the hole, then used electrical tape. (Its on a rockford fosgate amp) This also MIGHT be a cause, because the remote isnt insulated like it should be. Any suggestions as to what might be my problem? I hope i gave you stereo wismans enough detail, because its hard to explain without actually seeing it. Thanks for the help! :D

You sure its just not making really low sound????

Low sounds have very long wavelenghts that actually can't be heard close in there so long and spread apart between "peaks". Try going into your house w/ the bass pumping outside. Even my mild system will shake the wierdest things indoors and some low notes I wont hear until I back like 50 feet away.

i did indeed know that some low bass cant be heard somtimes when ur in the car as well as outside of it. But, i gaurentee thats not the prob. my subs move in really far, then move out almost all the way, at volume 1 or 2, or it starts at at point when im in between songs or changing the CD. When they do it, all i hear is a suttle "bup" each time they move in and out. Then when songs are playing, they just seem to hit "slow" instead of vibrating really fast like they normally should. again, its hard to explain. I bought them from my friend, and in his accord they worked perfect, and were really loud. I also bought his amp. So i think its some how in some connection to the amp, but im not sure. Any more thoughts from anyone would be appreciated!

if you know you have an amp remote lead problem, try fixing that first

You may be seeing the amp turn on off?

my amp stays on all the time. I also learned that having the power wire too close to the remote turn on or RCA cables could cause some interference. This true? If so that might be it. :thumb:

Who wired your amp?

Oh i wired it myself. :p Dont worry, im not a newb at this stuff, ive wired over a dozen systems, but never have i seen this before, and when i go to professionals, every single one tells me something different. So im stuck on what to do :thumbdown

Well if your amp stays on all the time then something is wrong, and it aint your RCAs
mine run next to the power wire from the firewall all the way to the infini, and I have wire dozens of amps and only once had a problem (crappy car, crappy alternator, bad grounds on battery, block and frame).

Figure out why your amp is staying on all the time!

Oh, you might have misunder stood. My amp doesnt stay on all the time, only comes on when its supposed to. But my subs are the things freakin out, although it could be due to the amp. who knows.

Have you tried to isolate the signal from the head unit?

Try to also test the amp in a different car, with different head unit signal and different subs.

Did you redo your ground connection, as well as correct the turn on wire problem?

Amps will try to backfeed thru the turn on if the ground is poor.

Is the metal chassis of the amp completely isolated from Chassis ground?

When you disconnect the ground wire andtest with a multimeter is it still showing grounded? This can cause noise and other good fun depending on the amp and your luck. (mine was always bad, ended up dynomatting the bottom of the amp and the metal under neath to get rid of some noise)

If you can't find a problem (and it is some type of noise or current problem to "not hit as well" and have a low hz submotion... try it in another car.

sounds like a ground problem i used to have, try rewiring every thing pull it all out (but the deck) and rewire...

try a freinds amp, see if the subs still do that thing.

my freind has a problem with his amp kinda like the one youre having. the rca inputs in his amp are loose inside the amp(the screw that holds the rca connector plate broke, so they just sit in there) so when yo hit a bump and the volume is down or paused, the sub goes boom like once or twice, or it makes a low rumble with the exhaust at idle, i loved it when he let me borrow it, but he gets really annoyed at the smallest things.

Thanks for all your help guys! i will rewire it and test a few things then let you know! Thanks! :D
