Stupid manifold cover!!

How have you gotten the bottom half of your exhaust manifold cover off? These 2 bolts on the bottom by the alternator will not budge!!!
I have a 2ft socket wrench but it won't fit and really don't want to take the alternator off!
And I've sprayed about 2 yrs worth of liquid wrench already, that didn't work haha

All I did was got 2 wrenches hooked the one wrench to the other and just put muscle behind it haha! Wd40 might help too

Try using a wrench instead of a socket

I had no trouble getting those bolts off. I used a long rachet and a shallow socket. The hard part is getting that o2 sensor out. I had to cut the bottom of the shield with a tin snip to get it off.

You can also let the motor run for a few minutes. When the exhaust gets hot, those bolts will loosen much easier.

Have you tried any penetrating solution such as PB blaster or WD40? Try soaking them in that for a little while then try to take them off.

Using a small wrench and a breaker bar on the right angle will get it. Use the 12pt part of the wrench otherwise the bolts will probably break inside. Good luck!

2 cans of liquid wrench over the past day, a broken wrench, some busted knuckles but got em! Haha
I just wasn't mad enough yet!

Before you put it all back together, consider cutting away part of the bottom section so that you can more easily slide the cover on and off. It makes anything turbo/02 related soooo much easier in the future.

Had the closed end on the bolt, was under the car with a big ass bar in the open in...While pulling so hard it snapped the "tooth" off.
