How have you gotten the bottom half of your exhaust manifold cover off? These 2 bolts on the bottom by the alternator will not budge!!!
I have a 2ft socket wrench but it won't fit and really don't want to take the alternator off!
And I've sprayed about 2 yrs worth of liquid wrench already, that didn't work haha

I had no trouble getting those bolts off. I used a long rachet and a shallow socket. The hard part is getting that o2 sensor out. I had to cut the bottom of the shield with a tin snip to get it off.

You can also let the motor run for a few minutes. When the exhaust gets hot, those bolts will loosen much easier.

2 cans of liquid wrench over the past day, a broken wrench, some busted knuckles but got em! Haha
I just wasn't mad enough yet!

Hey I have learned with DSMs, that everything I do is a hassle but is always worth it when I'm done!!

That's about as good as it gets.

Something I've learned - If it's not hard, It's not worth it.

work smarter, not harder...is my motto. although i always end up with either bloody knuckles or a kink in my neck (worst). back yard mechanics ftw!!
