if i take off the exhaust manifold heat shield will it cause any damage to any thing around it liek the hood ir the little hose that runs right over it?

also, can i take off the timing gear cover without screwing anything up?

I don't know why you would want to but the heat shield and timing cover are there for a reason. If you do remove the heat sheild you will have to re-route you O2 sensor wire. If you remove the timing cover pray nothing ever gets wedges in there or bye-bye motor.
