Alright so here's the deal. I bought my car in Oct. of last year and Ive had this AFC (Air Fuel Controller) Sitting at zero for the past year ive had this car. I know that it probally shouldnt be sitting at Zero so im wondering if anybody can give me tips on what to set it at. Im gonna Put up a picture of it later on in this thread but i want to explain it a little first. Now for specs im in a area where the elevation is about 1200Ft. (I live in Phoenix, AZ. currently.) People told me in order to tune this right i need to get on the dyno but im way to broke to afford that. So if anybody knows anything about this that can help me set it up for just daily driving that would be awesome cause im running a little lean lately but i don't want to loose to much power.

Well considering you have no mods (profile wise) running it at zero isn't bad since that's how it would run stock. Either way, as kennyg posted, you'll need to check your engine's performance using a logger of some kind before tuning. A wideband and logger (palm with software for 1g) will be needed to check what's going on.

never a bad thing to check over what the previous owner did to make sure it was done right.

This should give you a good idea of how it works, always important to know what things do before fiddling with them:

Wow I'd pitch that and get a safcII or neo, you can find them reasonably priced on craigslist or ebay, or possibly in the classifieds here. to tune it you'll need to install a wideband o2 sensor. In boost you want your afr's in the 11's and out of boost 14's. Lastly, before you do any tuning, Research research, research. Afterall, the health of your motor will depend on your tuning abilities, so it's best to have a good idea of what you're doing before you start.

If it's completely stock, I would just take out the AFC.

Also, you shouldn't be tuning "seat-of the pants" method. Although things may "sound good" and "feel good" you have no idea if you're running rich or lean. This will lead to poor gas milage and poor performance... You're better off taking it out until you can log or monitor what's going on.

Well I instead if using my dmm I've been using a scanner to monitor the voltage to my o2 sensor and tried setting it that way. I really don't wanna try and remove it untilled I get my knowledge of it up and it looks like a nightmare the way its wired in to the computer so I think I'm just gonna leave it at zeros tell I figure out whats what
