Ok now working on problem number 1,235,543. Now my right turn signal is stuck blinking. I took the whole turn signal assembly apart and found nothing broken at all. The weird thing was that I had the entire assembly apart (so the turn signal lever was completely apart). With everything apart, I plugged the assembly back into the power harness and it was STILL blinking the right turn signal .

So with everything apart the blinker is still stuck. What else can I look into? I have heard that maybe the relay but very rarely does a relay fail as being stuck on (usually the blinkers just stop working).

So just asking for advice. Should I try to find an entire new turn signal assembly at a junkyard? Replace the relay which is located behind the radio?

I am getting tired of using hand signals and getting funny looks so any advice is welcome!

The turn signal unit in a 2g is more than just a relay. It is a circuit board with 2 transistors, resistors, 8 diodes, and 4 relays that also controls the flashers. I suggest replacing this "turn signal and hazard flasher unit" (possibly from a junk yard) which is located behind and above the radio on the right side.

I had the same problem on my 97 gst. I believe the left turn signal was stuck. Your turn signal switch went bad. There is a little piece of plastic that slides a metal contact over another piece which makes the solid contact thus turning it on. In your occasion it broke on the right side thats the reason why it wont turn off.

if you can find one i would get it from a junk yard other wise your paying almost a 100 bucks for one brand new. One from a tsi will not work. Everything about them are the same. but when you goto plug it in the connectors are different

Thanks for the help! I saw a couple new turn signal switches online for under 40 bucks.

By switch do you mean the entire turn signal assembly (like the lever and everything) or is there an actual switch?

Your problem can be either the turn signal switch or the turn signal and hazard flasher unit. So don't waste money getting the wrong one. Chances are it's the turn signal switch as 2gfwdbeast says since it is purely mechanical. You can test it by unplugging it and testing if there is always continuity between the switch side's connector terminal that plugs into to the harness side connector's green-yellow wire (pin 8) and the one that plugs into to the harness side connector's red wire (pin 9). Test on the switch side connector now - not the harness side. If always continuity no matter what position the lever is in, then it's bad.

Great, mine just broke today too. So if I have cruise control I'm looking at the more expensive option:
97 1997 Eagle Talon Turn Signal Switch - Body Electrical - Standard Motor Products - PartsGeek

Yay.
