hey im building my block bt im stuck on the internals my hp goal is 450-500hp range bt i dnt know if i should do the 2g/1g combo or get aftermaket pistons and rods.

Get some Eagle Rods Wiseco Pistons . Just in case you want more out of it later

I'd probably agree with getting some aftermarket rods/pistons as that is pushing the 2g pistons and 1g rods pretty far and will not allow much if any room to go further.

450-500hp at the flywheel should do well on a 1g/2g rod/piston setup. I have been running a maxed evo16g at 32psi, 22* timing for over a year on a 2 year old motor. Doing well with good compression. When you start to break that 500whp on the dyno your getting close but motors usually break due to bad tunes. If you have a good afr, stay in a safe timing range and no detonation you will be good.

Im going to upgrade to a hx40 in a litte and will be maxing my motor out. Im hoping to break a mid 11 up in my altitude and maybe a 500+whp dyno and see how well these motors do. I believe they can take a lot more than people think. Its all about the fuel and no detonation.

But like stated above if you can afford going forged I mean who is stopping you!!!!
